IPL Burn Marks

ORIGINAL POST

IPL Burn Marks

I used my IPL for the first time today and used it on the highest level which now I know I should not have due to my tan skin. It is the middle of winter and I have had no sun exposure but my skin still reacted like this! I have been doing all sorts of research and I am scared of developing post inflammatory pigmentation and scarring, please tell me how I can prevent these things and get my legs looking back to normal.

Wait? You have your own machine? Where did you get it? (Smart woman.) Hopefully your legs will heal up soon. Give them time.
yes! I bought it from Kenzzi. However, they never mentioned you should adjust the light intensity based on your skin colour, so be careful and do your research!
This is exactly why IPL treatments shouldn’t be available to purchase for non clinicians; you don’t know what you don’t know.
I meant home IPL units, not treatments. I’d be too afraid to operate it on myself.
