Over 70 and Loving Beramendi Thread Lift! - Brazil, BR

Having seen Beramendi's dramatic thread lift results on my friend who had the procedure done 15 years ago and still looks great, at age 70 I decided to bypass all options available in the medical capital of the US and traveled from Houston to Rio De Janeiro Brazil for Dr. Jose Antonio Beramendi's expertise.
My husband, who has been in the medical profession for 40 years, had provided me with the finest plastic surgeon for a face lift and was very concerned regarding my decision to go outside his healthcare system, but he was extremely pleased to see me (and the results) ten days later. His questions regarding Beramendi, his education, practice, procedure, protocol, etc., and numerous daily calls to monitor my progress resulted in an exorbitant phone bill, but the worse part of the procedure was not shampooing my hair for several days and terribly missing my wonderful husband!
Prior to travel I completed lab work in the US and upon arrival, met with Beramendi. His staff was very welcoming and reassuring; he took great time to review the procedure with me, explaining in detail and answering questions, exhibiting other patient before/after pictures and, ensuring he understood what results I desired. It was interesting to evaluate his genuine interest and excitement of anticipation of what he could do with a new face! I also met with the anesthesiologist, who reviewed my medical history and explained protocol.
I returned to his office the next morning and was immediately prepped for the procedure. I was under general anesthesia for the two-hour procedure in Berimendi's OR, located in his office/clinic. Recovery was two hours and I departed his office, looking a little strange, but relatively comfortable. According to US standards, one could describe the OR and Recovery a little primitive, but by no means unsafe. The third floor OR above his office was not state-of-the-art, but sterile and reminiscent of the 1960’s, and Recovery consisted of a small adjacent non-descript room with a single bed, a simple armed office chair, and a open window to the slight street noises below. Having worked in healthcare previously, I understand protocol; at no time was I hesitant, concerned, or uncomfortable regarding my care, and I can certainly praise the ease and efficiency I experienced during the entire process from meeting Beramendi to suture removal! The staff was wonderful, there was no lengthy wait time, the physician and anesthesiologist took extensive time with me, and I cannot be more pleased with the results or the minimal cost!
I continue to experience daily improvement and have documented progress with photographs. Not only did I feel better each day, but I also looked much better! Other people noticed! It was uncomfortable sleeping on my back and I did have some minor headaches from the thread pulling in my temple/scalp. However; to receive maximum results and minimize potential for adverse effects, I was given explicit instructions, which I followed. Although after a few weeks I felt fine, it was necessary to discipline myself to follow protocol, as total healing takes three months.
The bottom line..... the discomfort was minimal and already the result is exactly what I desired, although with collagen growth, I will improve even more so within the next six months. I desired a refreshed look that removed the sagging areas and deep wrinkles without undergoing an invasive procedure. I cannot praise Beramendi and his staff enough; I experienced an enhanced user friendly and more efficient process with a less expensive and superior procedure than one receives in the US! Would I do it again...... you bet'cha!
I have received so many compliments and I am very open to reveal I traveled to Rio De Janerio (Ipanema) for a Beramendi Thread Lift, as his materials and technique is much different than what has been used in the US. I suspect US physicians did not receive adequate education and training from vendors to obtain optimal results with thread lift procedures and physicians may not have educated their patients on proper protocol, which may have contributed to less desirable results.
Beramendi has perfected his procedure and material, and if he is still practicing when I'm 85, I will make another trip to Rio.... this time with my husband accompanying me, …..if we are still alive!

After total healing, there is no discomfort, no visible threads, no indentations, and I am very pleased with the results. I followed all protocols and continue to be very careful with my face, as I still use just soap and water for cleansing and scrub with a wash cloth. I believe the successful clinical outcome is the result of an excellent plastic surgeon, who is well experienced and continues to perfect his craft, skill, and product, along with providing detailed post op instructions!
