Tray 13
jgreene12September 23, 2015
$4,500
Things have been going well. My teeth are sore with some of the trays for the first day, but otherwise I am excited to be around the halfway point (13/24). The only thing that has been annoying is the way my teeth have been moving, I only touch with my "fang" teeth, so it makes chewing difficult. Hoping for this to keep changing and getting better.

Tray 3!!
jgreene12May 5, 2015
Tonight I change to my third tray!! The second tray the second week was no big deal. I am getting more used to taking them in and out and even am back to snacking a bit more ;). I no longer care if people see them or notice them. The only part I still am working on getting over the lisp when I change trays but so far going from two to three tonight is about the same. I feel like the tray gets worn in after the first week and now that I changed the tray, the new ones feels very hard when I bite down.

Tray 2 and buttons/attachments...
jgreene12April 22, 2015
This morning I got my buttons and second tray. I could definitely feel that the plastic was a little thicker (The hygenist warned me that it would be a bit stronger than the first "trainer tray" which is a bit thinner and more flexible). My teeth with the new aligners on feel like chewing on hard plastic.. Definitely different. Oh well. Just another stage of the process, and at least its progress. Unfortunately, where my buttons are on my right lower teeth and right upper have caused me to bite (HARD) on my lower right cheek every time I eat....and it hurts like hell. I keep chewing slowly and carefully but I bit the same spot 3 times eating dinner. Has anyone else experienced that? Will it get better?
I have to work on my lisp again, but already by tonight feel "normal" until I try to bring my teeth together.. then hard plastic feel.
2 weeks down, tray 2 of 24 in.

I only have bottom buttons, but man, I bit a hole in my bottom lip, no matter how slowly I chewed, when I first got them. For several days! You'll adjust...the body is pretty miraculous that way.
I still am hyper aware of them 24/7. Not pain, but just- there's a wad of plastic in my mouth! I can't close my lips or hold my teeth together...my trays are REALLY thick to accommodate crowns. Only a year more of this:p!!!

So glad i'm not the only one!! Today has been the best so far in that I only bit my lip once ;). I can now chew a little faster, almost normal, and be ok. It is so nice to have this forum to support each other, I feel so self conscious about the trays but it seems that no one is looking or notices but me or others who have had invisalign. lol. I hope yours will get better soon so that you can hold your lips together again! There is an end in sight :)

Hi there,
I actually just started treatment with Dr. Eshom and my experience thus far has been awesome and consistent with everything you said; great staff who are patient, welcoming and really thorough, competitive pricing, etc. etc.
My treatment plan is different - it's addressing a little bit of relapse since I never wore my retainer when the braces came off ten years ago - and so far they're planning on only 12 trays, but they'll cover any revisions/ additional trays at no charge. My question... did they talk to you about getting Propel, which they said accelerates treatment and can cut it in half? I have no idea if you're a candidate for it but wondered if they'd proposed the option and what your thoughts were.
Thanks!

Hey! What a small world that we are seeing the same dentist! I am jealous that you have a shorter treatment, but you already had braces so you earned it ;). I really like the office so far too and am glad to hear it wasn't just me. I was not told about propel...what is it? And did they say how much? I have read about this AccelDent system from some of the other reviewers. Good luck with your treatment!!

Ahh! Just kidding. No way would I do Propel. They drill holes in your gums to speed up the process. I'd rather move my teeth as naturally and normally as is safe... see this girls review- she mentions the process http://www.realself.com/user/1276973
