Invisalign is a Miracle Worker!
WORTH IT$7,000
I went in for 2 consultations for my teeth in 2017. I’ve never had great teeth and had the whole 9 yards growing up. Braces, headgear, retainer, lol. I still don’t remember ever having nice teeth, but I’m sure there was a time I did for a bit?
Fast forward to college my teeth shifted. My top front tooth stuck out and my bottom teeth moved from crowding. Yes, I did wear my retainer so it was not that. Come to find out, my wisdom teeth didn’t grow in until 25 abs were all impacted, which pushed my teeth. Great, all that money and time growing up for nothing.
After having my wisdom teeth removed, I went to 2 consultations. They basically said they’ve never seen molars like my top molars. They stuck out soooo far. I had no idea and thought wiggling around to brush up there was normal. The first Orthodontist wanted to pull a bottom tooth due to crowding. I went home crying, no way! Then, I saw Dr. Parker after a friend recommended her. Her office felt more at home and not stiff. She also said she could slightly shave down a few bottom teeth as they moved to create room. I went with her and glad I did.
Now for the Invisalign:
Cost: I had a lot going on so mine were pricier than normal. Around $7k total and was quoted it twice. (Worth the money though!) That included this extra thing (forget the name) that you put in your teeth for 20 min a day that vibrates. It’s $1k but so worth it! It cuts the time down a lot and reallllly helps when your Invisalign feels very tight and teeth are sore.
What to expect:
I got photos done and they use this thing over your teeth to scan it. So much better than the old mold in the mouth that gags you. It’s neat- you can see a digital video model of how your teeth are expected to move over time! Then, You go in every once in a while for new, tighter Invisalign trays, I did have to get clear brackets on some teeth (even front teeth) for a big chunk of time. That part sucks since you can’t remove it. But went by fast. Also, Dr. Parker offered to remove them for my engagement photos. They are tight when you get new trays, but that vibrating thing helped. I also had to floss after every meal because as your teeth shift it causes gaps so food got stuck easier. That went away once my Invisalign was done. Good news was now I’m an amazing flosser since I got used to flossing a million times a day. My dentist is very impressed with my healthy mouth ha!
2 years later and wow!!!! Best decision I ever made! I live my teeth finally!
Also, once you are done you’ll get a few pairs of thicker Invisalign. You wear quite a bit at first then gradually just ate night, which is no problem.
