Top: Invisalign
Bottom: Metal brace
I had wanted to start Invisalign, but I got bad news that my bottom jaw was not compatible for the treatment. But that's okay! The dentist was able to order the Invisalign for the top, and do the bottom in metal.
I just had it all put on yesterday! Thankfully, when I smile you don't see any metal at all.
And (before I had it put on) I thought, that since the metal would be on the bottom only, that it wouldn't be seen or anything. I kinda found out today... that you see the bottom a lot. My mouth is pretty grey now when I'm talking. :( ....
The application process:
I didn't feel any pain while getting everything installed. The dentist attached some wedges to my top teeth, so the Invisalign clips into place. Getting the metal installed on the bottom wasn't too bad at all. It was scary, because I kept expecting something to hurt, but it never did.
Leaving the office:
I had no pain at all, but my mouth didn't close properly anymore. I did tell them that my mouth wasn't closing, but they said it's like that intentionally. The Invisalign felt clipped into place perfectly, it felt like a tight plastic layer over my top teeth. My bottom teeth felt super bulky, 3x as bulky as the Invisalign. It felt a bit sharp too.
The night of:
For the first few hours, I didn't feel any pain. About 3-4 hours later, it started feeling very tight in my mouth. Then it started to hurt. :( The top Invisalign did not hurt as much, most of the pain was coming from the bottom, where the spring is. I had my first meal, and it was extremely hard to eat. I felt like I couldn't chew at all. I'm pretty sure I broke something on the metal the first time I ate, but I'll get that checked out to know for sure. I had a really hard time sleeping the first night. I woke up several times in the night in pain. Waking up in the morning, things are still really painful, but not as bad as the night.

This is where I'm at so far, I will continue to update & post photos as my treatment goes along!!

I'm on my 4th tray for the top clear aligner. Not too much has happened for the top. But there has been some really big changes for the bottom front teeth!
The coil spring moved the teeth apart to make space for the tooth pushed back to come forward!

They removed the coil spring in the front, and attached the pushed back tooth onto the wire.
WOW!!! I can't even believe how much it moved in only 24hrs! This is crazy!!!
And yes it hurt. But I just took a tylenol and I was fine haha
