Inner Thigh Coolsculpting

Hey everyone! I spent a ton of time reading RealSelf prior to choosing coolsculpting and want to pay it forward. I've struggled with a lot of excess volume, contact, and chafing with my inner things for my entire life (since I was about seven years old). I chose coolsculpting because I wanted a nonsurgical, non-disruptive option. My primary goal was to improve my comfort when walking, running, and hiking- and not have to stop and worry about my damn thighs! My weight has varied over the past decade but this has been a problem the whole time- including when I was at my lightest and running long-distance races and marathons.
The AOB staff was really professional and kind, and designed a treatment that would help me with my inner thighs specifically. Tina, the Coolsculpting Tech, is really great. She made me feel comfortable and was very attentive to anything I was worried about. She's the only person I'll go see for anything similar in the future. The AOB staff are true pros.
I did two sessions with two applicators on each inner thigh, about 6 weeks apart if I remember right. My weight stayed the same for the entirety of the waiting period- certainly no major gains or losses that would create more of a thigh-gap. The process itself was not painful- it's the equivalent of holding an ice pack on your skin until your skin goes numb. The after-treatment sensation was weird- like a deep, itchy, tingly sensation in the inner thighs. That kept me up sometimes at night, but that was the only discomfort I felt. There was zero down-time- I literally went from my treatment to a walking tour of downtown with friends and had no problems.
I didn't notice much at first- the first thing I noticed was that my thighs appeared to be moving much more when I was walking- I later realized that's because the inner-thigh touch had been holding them in place in the past! About five months later, I now feel much less chafing and discomfort while running and walking- mission accomplished. I wouldn't say there was a massive visual difference, but then we took photos at AOB and I could really tell. For me, the biggest difference is in how I feel when moving around. The reduction of contact is such a relief.
I've actually been so used to my thighs touching that I've had to re-train my walking and running stride to adjust for the new space between my thighs- but that's going to be great for my joints in the long run. The only drawback I experienced was some skin sensitivity on the treatment area- I have full-body Keratosis Pilaris, so I had a little bit of a flare-up. Certainly nothing crazy.
For anyone considering, I'd say it is worth it if gradual change will accomplish your goal. For me, reducing chafing and contact was my number one goal, and I'm happy with this procedure. I'm excited to continue living an active life with a lot more comfort and less stress about thigh-rubbing. If you're looking for a more drastic change, you might need to go for a surgical option to get big results.
No matter what, you know what is best for your body and your goals, and deserve to feel great about yourself! I'll attach my photos here so you can see the before and after.
