I had a tummy tuck where they tightened all my abdominal muscles along with going into my back and liposuctioning. Altogether they took about 12 lbs. I have not looked at the results yet as I am too afraid to look! I am day 2 post op. Day one was pretty rough because I was allergic to pain medication and had to switch to regular pain medication. After I got up the first time it has all really became more easy each time. Basically I've just been exhausted. If I get up and make a meal and use the restroom I get back to the chair and I am wiped of energy. I'm also worried because I haven't gone poo yet and I am taking stool softeners to help when the moment comes. I have no children and I have always had split abs. Growing up I would kill myself in the gym and even ran a 6min mile and still had this stomach issue. Now that I have this done it will forever be my goal to have a really strong core so if I do get married and have a baby I don't have to go through this again. Everyone I know told me to not do it because I just needed to workout harder. It's difficult to have friends or family understand something they haven't gone through. They were supportive but just had trouble understanding. With this surgery I hope to gain my confidence and show results of all the hard work I've put in over the last 8-9 months (I lost 40 lbs)

Itchy
RlhowertonSeptember 29, 2014
My stomach is extremely itchy where I had the surgery and it is giving me a lot of anxiety. It's itchy within my stomach where I had surgery. Is this a normal thing? The worst part where I want to itch - which the surface is numb and stolen - is where my crease was in the above pictures at my belly button. I feel like I'm going on a rampage. Anyone have suggestions?

Have you tried Benadryl for the itching?

That's what I'm going to try if it happens again. The itching was so intense it's hard to describe it almost put me to tears not being able to get relief. I've been itchy in a few places but nothing like this area.

Post op day 4

Well today I woke up naseous and almost like I had a fever. I got a prescription filled for the tummy sickness and once I had that and some soup in me I felt a lot better. I'm still worried about the itchy feelings but if I have that I'm going to take Benadryl to hopefully help. Last night with the itching I basically had a panic attack because of it - which I must say is not in my character to do this.
I took a shower for the first time since the operation (stinky gal) and it exhausted me. My shower was very short so I didn't risk getting light headed and falling basically some quick soap and hair washed. I took some pictures post shower. You can see I'm really swollen but I think it'll look great when the swelling goes down and the feeling returns to the area.
I also have been making myself walk a little more each day. Yesterday I walked 3 times for a total of about 1.1 miles. Today I walked 3 times and was able to go 1.75. I have been drinking a lot of muscle milk to help repair the muscles that were damaged (just like a body builder would do) and I think it's helped. I can't wait until I can get the drains out and just stand up. Being hunched over has been hard too.
The constant exhaustion has been hard as well. I am always napping but really haven't gotten a good nights sleep because it's hard to get comfortable.
I'm still unsure of the results but it could be the pain meds talking. I'm just happy I have clean hair now! Ha! Thanks for reading and the positive comments

Did you get valium? If you haven't ask your doctor to prescribe it. It will take the edge off to control the panic attacks, and pain, the itchiness can be even pain that you're body isn't recognizing.

I was given 2 before surgery but I might call tomorrow and ask for some more. I only took one the morning of surgery and one the night of my panic attack and it did help.

So they didn't give you a prescription? My ps gives me a week of it for the first week.

If its external itching apply organic coconut oil to affected areas. Very soothing.
