I had a buccal fat removal 8 days back. After which I was toooo swollen. My right cheek had excessive swelling and when I went to see my surgeon he said it was a fluid retention and drained all the fluid. The next day the cheek again had started to bloat up and it was again the fluid getting collected on my right cheek.. so my surgeon decided to put a small cut under my cheek so that it drains out instead of collecting it and he asked me to keep pressing my cheek so that the fluid keeps coming out.. since yesterday the fluid is stopped draining from the cut he had made and it is moving to my jaw under my ear.. though the swelling is better.. but I do have lumps on both my cheeks which are hard but sore when you touch them.. please advise if this will go or anything that needs to be done.

I had the same problem on the right side. It's been 16 days now since I had it and it's pretty much gone. I would massage it and put pressure on it every morning and night. I did keep icing it for the full 2 weeks. I would also exercise my mouth by opening it wide and closing it. Good luck it's worth it!!

Thank you for your reply.. Phew..! Such a relief... Good to know that it has almost gone. I did try to ice it but i feel when i ice it gets worse.. I spoke to my surgeon this morning and he asked me to put the hot compress for couple of days. Lets see how it goes.. Will keep updating.. Thank you so much..

So my hard lump is gone and the incision is healed. It's been a month today. I did some cheek massaging and kept on with gargling with salt water. I'm not sure exactly what helped but I'm all good now. Are you having anymore problems?

Asymmetrical Face

naazi1103

I had a buccal fat removal couple of years ago and one of my right cheek was way too swollen during the recovery process and the fluid was started to form which was drianed out and it healed all fine.. however the cheek has really left my face look asymmetrical and when I smile it really looks as if my face has two different sides.. and I also had a upper blepharoplasty twice ..and I beleive my right eye as well ended up with the same asymmetrical issue.. my brows have always been literally up and down.. it don't match at all and my eyes have two different shapes.. I thought blepharoplasty will resolve the issue but looks like both buccal fat removal and upper eye lid surgery has my made face look even in a bad shape than before.. my right profile looks so bad that I avoid taking any pictures on my right side of the face.. I don't know what would be the best procedure to get my face look even..

I completely understand the all too common self- criticism we all have, but when I see your photos, your beauty is what shines through… ok, yes, there is some asymmetry, but truly, it is like a non issue(!) it’s may seem strange to you, but I truly only see a light filled heartfelt person… now to view my own reflections the same way, we’d all save some money!!
