66 year old had 33 year old implants removed!! - Independence, MO

I am thrilled to finally be rid of the implants...

I am thrilled to finally be rid of the implants that in had put in 33 years ago. I discovered that I had bilateral ruptures in October 2015 and was told I needed to contact a plastic surgeon. I read and researched everything I could find on breast explants when found RealSelf website. I found comfort and courage from reading about so many people who have been through this. I really didn't have a choice about having the surgery done, only a choice on who would do it!

Sorry I don't have any before and after pictures. I never had any intention of posting on this site but I was so impressed with the outcome I wanted to give my doctor a "shout out!"

I also have had my implants for 30 odd years, been replaced twice, to start with I was extremely flat chested, so I'm hoping over the years I may have developed some more beeast tissue, I'm definitely having implants removed although I'm still researching surgeons to see who I feel will give me the best result. I don't think there are as many PS experienced in ex planting as there are implanting, did you have your capsules removed? And did you have much breast prior, would love to see pics if you're able to post some, I'm 63 but a very young 63 but over these horrid cold hard balls. So glad of your happy outcome
I was a B cup prior to breast augmentation and a C after surgery. I have aged and put on the typical extra few pounds. My breast look just like they did prior to the breast augmentation 33 years ago. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. I go back to the doctor tomorrow and I am going to see if she can provide me with the before and after pictures so that I can post them. I'm looking forward to viewing your pics, did you have much wrinkling or sagging and did you have the capsules removed? I work 2 days a week I'm wondering how much time I may need off, don't particularly want to tell them what I'm doing, will let you know how I'm going with PSs....thank you so much for your info
Yes, I had the capsules removed. I do not have a lot of sagging or wrinkling. My breast look very normal for what I think a 66 year old should look like. I am hoping my doctor will email me a copy of my pictures and I will post them.

Yes the more I read on capsules, I want everything taken away, but can't see the PS whom I think will be the best., until April 7th, hoping for a cancellation as its a struggle waiting just want them removed, did you have much pain?? Thank you so much for all you info :) x
I really didn't have much pain the first 3-4 days. I used ice packs to help with inflammation and ended up with chapped nipples which was uncomfortable. I used plain old vaseline for a couple of days and I am feeling fine now. I am so glad that I had this surgery done. I am noticing a little more sag since some of the swelling is gone but still nothing that concerns me. My girls look pretty normal... The anticipation of surgery and fear of what you might look like is the worst part of this whole process. Once it's done, it's a big relief! I wish you well!!!

About three weeks post explant and I'm doing well. Dr. Alyward emailed me pictures but I can't seem to get them loaded to this web page. Frustrating!! Overall, I am very pleased and I am definitely pleased with how my breasts look. Mostly the same as before I had the surgery. I have had more pain than I expected but I also had a lot of trauma done to as my breasts as a result of having ruptured implants and capsules removed. The biggest problem I have had is exceptionally sore and tender nipples. Not sure of the cause but I guess it could be friction from the sports bras I have been wearing. I finally went to Walmart and bought nursing pads and HPA Lanolin for nursing mothers. It seems to be working and I don't feel so tender. We will see in a day or two...
In short, I am so happy to have those horrible things out of my body. I have not had any joint pain since the day they were removed. I couldn't believe it!! I feel 100% better except for the expected healing from surgery. No regrets...not even one!
It's wonderful that you're boobies are the same as pre implants even though the skins been stretched for so long, gives me hope for my results although my breasts were nowhere near a 34 more like a 30 AAA, but never mind still can't wait to have them removed!! Will keep you posted but meantime I'm so very very happy for you :)
