My Cute New Nose!

Day 14 Post Op

WORTH IT$7,500
Hello! First of all, can't believe it's been two weeks ago since surgery. It honestly feels like years ago. Too funny! I mean, I just feel so completely back to normal and almost as though it was all a dream. I'm happily on the other side.

So to anyone curious about taking 1 or 2 weeks off work -- one week will be plenty! Don't get me wrong, the first week of recovery is rough and then *poof* all back to normal.

I'm still taking Vitamin C and Zinc but stopped the Arnica and Bromelain at around 10-11 days post op.

Anyhoo! I am back to share a trio of pictures for anyone interested. Far left, before; middle, 8 days post-op/cast removal; far right, 14 days post-op.

I love how subtle the change is. The big awful hump is GONE and my nostrils are much smaller. But it's a slight change and that's perfect. It's still swollen and the tip will get more and more refined over the next few months, I'm absolutely loving how sleek it looks when I look in the mirror. WAY less bulbous tip, has definition, doesn't droop, no hump = happy girl! You can also see how quickly the stitches/scars have healed on my nostrils (and under my nose) since I had an open rhinoplasty.

Well, that's all I can think of to report. I am happy to answer any questions!

First look at new nose!

Cast came off today! Photos on left are before, photos on right are after. This is exactly 8 days from surgery, so there is still some bruising, red marks from where doctor removed stitches on nostrils, etc. I am VERY pleased and still processing everything. Honestly, I am in shock, in a good way. It's so different but yet so subtle, I'm at a loss for words.

I absolutely love your posts and play by play! I feel the exact same way as you did about the anesthesia....so afraid I'm going to die when I'm put under. I'd love to know what you recommend buying in preparation in terms of pillows, creams, ice packs, etc.. Keep the posts coming and so glad to hear that all is going so well for you! ;)
Thanks! When are you getting your surgery? I've been taking Arnica (4 tablets 3-4 times a day), Bromelain, Vitamin C, and Zinc. I actually didn't start the Arnica/Bromelain in advance because I'm crazy and had convinced myself it would cause some bizarre .001% fatal reaction with the general anesethia. LOL! I bet it would have prevented a lot of the swelling and bruising that hit the day after surgery. But no matter, my cast came off today (Day 8) and there's almost no bruising at this point. I love my after pics, lol. I am really happy and wish you a lot of luck. Ask away, I really am happy to help other people going through the same process. :)
Wow! Your profile looks great. Congrats.
Thanks! ;)
Your nose looks great!!!! Congrats!
Thanks so much!
We had surgery the same day! I also got my cast off today :) your nose looks great, how do you feel?
Thanks! I feel awesome, it's been what, 10 days? I can't believe how normal I feel. My nose is still swollen, though, but seems better little by little. What about you? Have people noticed? My nose is very subtle and no one can really tell, lol.

Cast Removal Tomorrow!

So today is Day 7 -- exactly one week ago I was in surgery! And tomorrow is the long-awaited big reveal. Well, I'm nervous. Anyone got any words of wisdom? Did the stitches removal hurt? Anything I should know?

Physical: Zero pain at this point, feel great. No need for even Tylenol! I am taking Vit C, Arnica, Bromelain, still. Will keep taking for at least another week+.

Bruises: Nearly all gone but still a little yellow under my eyes with random splotches of red bruising. Still a little swollen. My tip swelled a lot yesterday but is normal again today.

Emotional: Doing great! My biggest complaint is that I've been home since my dr appt the day after surgery. Stir crazy! Time to get OUTSIDE! Just been a chicken wimpy about being seen with cast on nose. :D
