Day 14 Post Op

Hello! First of all, can't believe it's been two weeks ago since surgery. It honestly feels like years ago. Too funny! I mean, I just feel so completely back to normal and almost as though it was all a dream. I'm happily on the other side.

So to anyone curious about taking 1 or 2 weeks off work -- one week will be plenty! Don't get me wrong, the first week of recovery is rough and then *poof* all back to normal.

I'm still taking Vitamin C and Zinc but stopped the Arnica and Bromelain at around 10-11 days post op.

Anyhoo! I am back to share a trio of pictures for anyone interested. Far left, before; middle, 8 days post-op/cast removal; far right, 14 days post-op.

I love how subtle the change is. The big awful hump is GONE and my nostrils are much smaller. But it's a slight change and that's perfect. It's still swollen and the tip will get more and more refined over the next few months, I'm absolutely loving how sleek it looks when I look in the mirror. WAY less bulbous tip, has definition, doesn't droop, no hump = happy girl! You can also see how quickly the stitches/scars have healed on my nostrils (and under my nose) since I had an open rhinoplasty.

Well, that's all I can think of to report. I am happy to answer any questions!

First look at new nose!

Cast came off today! Photos on left are before, photos on right are after. This is exactly 8 days from surgery, so there is still some bruising, red marks from where doctor removed stitches on nostrils, etc. I am VERY pleased and still processing everything. Honestly, I am in shock, in a good way. It's so different but yet so subtle, I'm at a loss for words.

Cast Removal Tomorrow!

So today is Day 7 -- exactly one week ago I was in surgery! And tomorrow is the long-awaited big reveal. Well, I'm nervous. Anyone got any words of wisdom? Did the stitches removal hurt? Anything I should know?

Physical: Zero pain at this point, feel great. No need for even Tylenol! I am taking Vit C, Arnica, Bromelain, still. Will keep taking for at least another week+.

Bruises: Nearly all gone but still a little yellow under my eyes with random splotches of red bruising. Still a little swollen. My tip swelled a lot yesterday but is normal again today.

Emotional: Doing great! My biggest complaint is that I've been home since my dr appt the day after surgery. Stir crazy! Time to get OUTSIDE! Just been a chicken wimpy about being seen with cast on nose. :D
