I love my body now! However I was not prepared for the recovery process or time. I was very emotional the first month thinking why did I do this, I will be stuck in a bent over position for ever..... Now it is May and I went to Vegas and wore a two piece to the pool, guys love my big butt especially my husband he loves to buy me clothes to wear that he wants to see me in and I don't have to tell him why I can't anymore I can wear that stuff now! I didn't lose weight instead of I am now a true medium as opposed to being I between medium and large. My clothes still fit they just fit way better. I had more than just a TT, I had lipo with fat transfer to the butt and shaping done. I'm 47 and have had Two c-sections which is why I have bad stretch marks, but I don't mind the scars I just didn't like the saggy belly. I am still swollen and I have 4 inchs of hard scar tissue along my incision, that will go away in time and with massage, my bikini bottoms cover it. . If I had realized fully the recovery process I may not have done it because I struggled with feeling selfish and guilty for spending that amount of money on myself, so I would have easily used not wanting to go through the recovery as a reason not to do it. However I can't explain how freeing it is to not have to analyze what type of clothes I have to buy so I can give the appearance of having a nice body.

OMG! I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and am going through the exact same feelings you did! Your post provided a lot of comfort, as I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I did not anticipate how long the recovery would be! I expected to be working out in 2 weeks and there is no way!

I am just now back to exercising and doing sit ups and I can only do like 10 and have to take a break. I still have numbness, and when I stretch Parts of my stomach is still very tight. I was taking dance lessons prior to the surgery and will have to start from the beginning of building up my upper body strength again. I'm hoping to start dancing again this fall.

If you don't practice self-care you can't truly be present and 100% for others. So good for you for practicing self-care for the process of that surgery. It sounds like it was worth it.

Clarification

Sorry for all the misspellings and run on sentences. Just to clarify I am glad I had the surgery even though I struggled with feelings of selfishness over spending that amount of money. I love shopping for clothes now. I can wear the stretchy knitted body hugging dresses. And I am so very glad I chose Dr. Patel! I pretty much let him do what he thought looked good for me. I know you should have at least three consults , but Dr. Patel didn't hesitate and was very confident and came across as loving what he does. I immediately felt trust and confidence in him.

So after the swelling went down some people said they expected it to look better than it did. I still have a huge hardened area on the right side ( keloid scar). I recently bought mederma for a family member who wouldn't use it so I used it massaging, frictioning that area and it softened up pretty good still working on it. My belly button is off Center, but people don't notice until I point it out.
I gained about 10-15 pounds and my hips, butt and boobs took most of it, I did get a pooch in the stomach but what really bothers me is my hips and the fat below my scar in the pubic area. I moved to a different state, I am going to look for a doctor here and ask his opinion on the surgery I had and the weight gain and how I can smooth things out. I am still glad to not have my stomach sag when I bend over. The scars and off center belly button is livable but the hips and puffy pubic area I hate.
I will upload some photos later.

Even though some people my husband was one said he thought the tummy tuck could have been done better, I'm not so sure after looking at some before and after pictures of several tummy tucks I think maybe the results were normal compared to all others. That's why I need to talk to another doctor about it. I will update again after I do talk with another doctor.

Do you think the weigh gain is from getting Lipo??
