Coolsculpting Procedure More Painful Than I Thought It Was Going to Be! Illinois, IL

So I've done my research and had mixed feelings on how the procedure would actually feel. Because I was told, no surgery, no anesthesia, no downtime, I'm thinking, I can deal with the fact that a few people said it was a little painful. I have a very high pain tolerance, so I figured if anything I could deal with a little pulling tugging and discomfort , it would be easy peasy!

So I get there, talk to the nurse, take some before photos and then go back to the room to start the procedure. I got two sections done, my lower abdominal (large applicator) and right above that with a medium applicator. When she first put the large applicator on to start the treatment, I thought I was going to die! All I could think was what in the hell have I done and why the lies about pain! She left the room after informing be that in 10 mins I would be "frozen" I was thinking that meant I wouldn't feel anything, but of course that was wrong. The entire process felt like a deep twisting and pulling of my stomach being sucked in! I felt like I couldn't breathe. The nurse also told me that if the applicator came (popped) off that we would have to restart and mentioned how I pay my application. So I was afraid to move. I was already having a hard time breathing, like I couldn't get a full breath in. Not sure if this was from the fact that I felt like if I took a normal breath that the applicator was going to pop off or if I was freaking out and just couldn't breathe! Anyway, after the 10 mins passed, I could still feel the pulling and tugging, it wasn't as intense as when it first started, but was still there.

After the treatment was done it was time to massage my stick of butter! HOLY BATMAN!!!! This was the worst part! It was extremely painful! All I kept thinking was oh my gosh, I still have another area to treat! At this point I was seriously thinking about stopping here! The nurse told me the next part wouldn't be as bad because it was with a smaller applicator. So I decided to go through with it. Again, applying the applicator and starting the treatment was the same filling, but after about 30 mins, I almost felt relaxed. When it came time to massage the stick of butter again, the pain was the same. I decided that the pain from this alone would make me not want to do this ever again!

I'll post pics soon and keep you all updated!

Day 1 - After the procedure , I was swollen! I went home and took an ibuprofen. Later on I read you shouldn't take these because it could interfere with the treatment process so I'm not taking any of these for 12 weeks!

Day 2 - Really sore and swollen! It feels like I did a killer ab workout! I can't bend, sit down, or basically move without it hurting from being so sore! This really sucks because I'm deprinking a lot of water to help with the recrovery process and going off and on the toilet is no fun!

Day 3 - Still sore and swollen! I look like I'm about 3 months pregnant! I felt a few little pains in my lower abdomen, but nothing to strong and it didn't last long. I'm getting nervous because some blogs I read said the "real pain" started between day 3-5. One thing that might be in my favor is that I'm currently on Neurontin to help treat mild neuropathy in both legs. I've been on it since January, it's the same prescription they used to treat pain after coolsculpting if it gets to be to bad. It takes 7 days to build up in your system and to start working, so let's hope I'm a head of the game!

Wow, thanks for sharing your experience! What is your pain level now?

Not really in pain. I would say it's a discomfort from the swelling and being sore.

Your experience was identical to mine! It's nice know there's someone else out there who went through the same level of pain that I did when I got my abs done. I'm a month post CS. Even though I see results and my stomach looks sexier, I seriously doubt I will ever do it again.

Same here...loving the results, but don't think I'll do it again.

Day 4 - St. Patty's Day! 03/17

So I'm still swollen and sore. I'm not an any pain, just discomfort. Sore to the touch is annoying! I forgot to mention day 1-3 felt like my belly was full of jello! Weird....but I only felt it when walking. Today I wore my spanks that came up all the way to my bra and I think that helped. I had a weird tingling sensation on and off all day. Didn't hurt but felt weird. I'm going to try to get my before pics from the doctors office and I'll post updated pics each week. I know they say that you won't really see results until 2 moths, but I'm hoping I'm one that will start to see them in 3 weeks! Gotta stay positive and be optimistic! =)

Day 5

I'm a little less swollen today, not sure if this is because I was off and did less moving and walking around. Also not as sore! I'm hoping that this is a good sign, I need to start working out! I've been a little itchy and have had a few pains that are almost like pulsing but are very mild. Overall I felt way better today, hoping to feel the same tomorrow.
