I had lower jaw surgery to correct severe overbite...

WORTH IT
I had lower jaw surgery to correct severe overbite. Also had liposuction at the neck / jaw line and chin implant put in. All three procedures were necessary in order to obtain an optimum result. Required one year of orthodontic treatment prior to surgery and six months post surgery. I was fortunate to find an excellent orthodontist, Dr Viney Saini, and a fantastic maxillofacial surgeon, Dr Michael Will.
It took time, effort, and great people to make this all happen.

It wasn't easy, but the results were well worth it! I am very pleased with my new look and smile!

Review of Will Surgical Arts I had the opportunity to meet Dr Will in March of 2014. I was very impressed by his knowledge, experience, and attitude. He listened to me, addressed my concerns, and discussed surgery options to correct my severe overbite and recessed lower jaw. He referred me to an excellent orthodontist, Dr Viney Saini. Together they developed a plan to correct all of the issues and provide an optimum result. I had one year of orthodontic treatment in order for my teeth to be in the proper position for surgery. I visited with Dr Will again to discuss his plans for me. He explained what needed to be done, taking the necessary time to ensure that I fully understood the procedures as well as any complications that could occur. Two surgeries were required. First, Dr Will performed liposuction on my neck and installed a chin implant. He was as anxious as I was to see the results of his work! When the bandages came off, we were all amazed to see the difference in my appearance. The second procedure was 11 days later. Dr Will performed surgery on my lower jaw, extending it by one centimeter. Again, the results were fantastic, I was absolutely blown away! He had aligned everything perfectly. He checked on me in the evening after both surgeries and provided me his personal cell phone number in case of any difficulties. Follow up visits were thorough, I never felt rushed. I highly recommend Dr Will, he is a very kind and talented man. He and his staff make an amazing team. They truly care about their patients. They helped me along every step of the way from initial planning, through surgery, recovery, and follow up. I always felt at ease and knew that I was in good hands. Now it is six months later, my orthodontic treatment is complete and my braces have been removed. I am very pleased with my new look and smile. Words cannot express the gratitude and joy that I feel. Thank you Dr Will for making my lifelong dream come true! Ed T.

Any numbing of the face?
Fossil20, It has been 13 months since my surgery. I am still experiencing some numbness and tingling of my lower lip and chin. At times I don't notice it, other times it can be a little bothersome. Overall, I am very glad that I had it done. I feel much better about my appearance and my smile. Wish you the best!
Last question! Care to show any before / after pics? I
Fossil20,
Sorry, I will not post any pictures. I will tell you that I have received many compliments from friends and family.
How much did the procedure cost? Was any covered by insurance?
I had a chin implant and lower jaw surgery. The combined cost was almost $25000. The implant was considered to be cosmetic, so insurance did not cover any of the cost. My surgeon was not part of my insurance network; however, I knew he was the best. Insurance covered 80%.
If you wish to save some money, make sure that your surgeon is in your insurance network. Also, check cost of outpatient surgery either at surgeon's office, or hospital.
