Halo and BBL

Large pores, fine lines and uneven skin tone were...

Large pores, fine lines and uneven skin tone were still a concern after having a facelift almost 4 years ago so I researched various laser procedures. After reading about the Halo laser and also the wonderful reviews it received I decided to locate a provider. I was living in Henderson, NV (Las Vegas) but no derm or PS had the Halo laser. I called Sciton, the folks who make various lasers and found there was a PS/Med Spa in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area and also a PS/Med Spa in Idaho Falls. After researching Freeman Plastic Surgery in Idaho Falls, I decided to make an appointment with Camille.
I had done a Profactional Laser treatment in 2016 and while it produced ok results, it didn't really accomplish what I needed. The Profractional Laser is a non-abaltive laser and that's probably and what I really needed was a combo between non-abaltive and abaltive. That's the Halo!
I just had the procedure done 3 days ago. Camille put numbing creme on my fact and neck and decolletage prior to the Halo and BBL procedure. There really wasn't any pain or discomfort.
Right after the procedures my face felt hot and was read as it was suppose to be so I iced it down. In about 2 hours the hot sensation went away. The next day I experienced some swelling and noticed the tiny brown spots. Today is day 3 and I noticed my face had more tiny brown spots (MENDS) (looks like coffee grinds) but that is to be expected also. I wash my face twice a day and put a healing cream on it every 3-4 hours to keep my face moist.
It is too premature to say the procedure was great, mediocre or not worth it only time will tell. I will follow up with more info as the days go by.

It's 1 month post Halo and BBL
At this point, I am not overly impressed. Of course, everything takes time. I still have a lot of redness from the procedure. The pores are definitely smaller but not as small as I had hoped for and I still have some discoloration which I had hoped the procedure would eliminate.
I started back on Skin Medica products which I feel are some of the best on the market. I am using the Lytera 2 which helps with discoloration. I will post again in another month as the result from the treatment take a while more than just a month. We'll see.

I am getting the Halo on August 8th. Curious to know what you think of your results now?

Wish I could say something positive but its been 4 months now and the hyper-pigmentation is worse than before the procedure and my skin tone did not improve a bit. A waste of time and money for me.

Halo and BBL
It has been 6 months and quite frankly I don’t think it was worth the money. I believe CO2 laser resurfacing is the best way to go. I have seen so many excellent results on other people from CO2 laser procedures but have not seen any significant result from those who had the Halo laser.
It’s a fact that the Halo laser is not able to do the job that a CO2 laser does so that’s probably why I didn’t get the results. For me it was a waste of money.

Also, how long do the "coffee grinds" look stay on your face? Pics on line it looks like a lot of black heads. So I would not want to go out with that. How long until you were done healing? Do you love the results?
Cost? How many treatments are required? Would you recommend it vs other procedures/treatments?
Broadband Light (BBL) is suppose to somewhat tighten the skin, reduce age spots and give you a more even skin tone.
While the recovery from Halo/BBL isn't bad, the results were not great. Therefore, I am not able to make a positive recommendation. I was 69 when I had it done so perhaps for the young folks may have better results.
The biggest negative was I had hoped to reduce hyper-pigmentation but unfortunately, it has made it much worse. Even the Lytera skin brightening products don't seem to help.
Bottom line....I wasted time and money.
After consulting with a dermatologist he said negative results from Halo or any procedure for that matter, are always a possibility. He suggested that I use a skin brightening product and recommended both Abagi and Skin Medica. However, neither has helped.
While facial skin may appear to look smoother immediately following the procedure, I think that's only because of the swelling. Once the swelling went away, I was back to where I started.
Wish I could have posted more positive comments but I must be truthful about my experience. Perhaps I should have gone with a more aggressive treatment. One doc in Las Vegas wanted to do a CO2 laser (much longer downtime but from what I've learned much better results) but I decided 'aggressive' was a bit too much for me at that time.
