How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.
If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

First, a little bit about myself. I am 5'1" ish and about 130 lbs. I am very active (in the gym 4-5 days a week) and have a fairly decent diet. I was within 5 lbs of my goal weight when I decided to have the procedure done. My lower abdomen was stretched out to no end during my pregnancy and now over a year later, has decided to become an unsightly pooch of fat. Despite losing all of the weight I gained during pregnancy and continuing to work out, this pooch will not go away! Hence the need for coolsculpting.
Day 1, The Procedure: I had two sections done. One on my right, one on my left, both angled at approximately 45 degrees and intersecting at the bottom underneath my belly button. The procedure itself was not bad. Like other reviews I read, the first 7 minutes is uncomfortable. But take a couple deep breaths and know its over quickly. The remaining hour is just like having a cold pack on your stomach. Its cold, but bearable. After the first side was done, I got up for a few minutes and then back down for the other side. I walked out with a slightly numb, cold tummy. But otherwise, I felt fine.
Day 2: Day two was pretty normal. I was tender (think about a deep bruise feeling) but nothing terrible. Every once in awhile I would get a sharp shooting pain around my belly button, but then it would subside. I was mildly swollen and as a result, I wore spanx or workout pants. Anytime my belly jiggled it felt like someone was digging into a bruised area. But day 2, still pretty normal, worked, went the gym, etc.
Day 3: Still swollen, still in spanx. Luckily, this was my day off so I went to the gym first thing in the morning and lounged around the house. I was still able to do normal chores and take care of my baby. The pain was definitely worse today, but again, still bearable. It mostly felt tender and there were sharp stinging pains here and there. I took Tylenol every 4 to 6 hours to help with the soreness and made it through the day just fine.
Day 4: Pain is the same, but slightly more intense. Still in spandex. Based on other reviews I kept preparing myself for the onset of intense pain on day 4. The stinging pains did cause me to wake up a couple of times at night. But, I was still able to move around and fall back asleep.
Day 5: Pain is getting better! From what I read, I was prepared for an onslaught of gasping shooting pains and intense fireworks exploding in my abdomen. But, I would equate the pain to the same as day 3. Still in spandex pants due to the swelling.
Day 6: Swelling is starting to subside (slightly) and the pain is back down to day 2 status. Totally doable, mildly irritating but don't need any Tylenol kind of pain. I'm still not able to wear my jeans comfortably, but its nothing I'm too concerned about.
So, that is where I'm at right now. On a side note, every night I massage out the treated area for 3 to 5 minutes. Firm pressure seems to help, which is probably why I'm still into wearing spanx, spandex, and tight yoga pants. Additionally, I find it better if I fall asleep on my stomach. Again, I'm assuming its probably because of the firm pressure. I've also been drinking a ton of lemon water to help flush out toxins and keep my body in tip top hydration. Here's to hoping for great results!
