Concept Face Lift July 2018 Update 9 months - not great!

I have been back for a face to face consultation and the surgeon seemed to think it was good. I mentioned the deep lines starting and he suggest a co2 laser which would cost an extra 2,400 Sterling. He also said if I wanted lipo In my neck it would give a smoother appearance. I was told that now the swelling had ceased this would be how it’s is and not a stretched look. That it would not relax more- I’m not convinced but I’ll go with what he says and review in July to see if there are more changes. I am disappointed with my neck and the two folds from my mouth to chin which have appeared - what he said is a more natural relaxed look. I’m not sure what it will be like after 12 months but I have decided that this will be the time to assess fully and also to decide if lipo in the neck will really give me a smoother neck line. A lot of money if I look the same!

I am exactly in same position as you amir said he would fix what he had done and not to worry I got the courage to let him what I thought was going to sort what he had done it actually once swelling went has made matters worse he suggested the same laser treatment when I asked to see my before pics he couldn't show them as system was not working when I showed my own before and after pics got told they must have been taken with flash on i hope you are able to get a good outcome but can I say go get a second opinion hope all goes well

Ok thank you my gut says don’t do more in case it’s worse but I’m now looking for advice from other professionals as I really cannot go through with another procedure that won’t work ! I am looking also at why the cost is so high for this effect?

Sorry to hear this Lorna 1 when did you get the procedure done and when did you get the review done and what has happened since?

I had last procedure Jan 2018 got told similar excuse as yourself he made me feel as if I was expecting to much I actually looked better before his treatment would you believe

I would also go for another surgeon if I were in this situation, especially when the present surgeon denies obvious facts and basically blames the patient.

PS. On the positive side, you seem to have wonderfully beautiful lips! I am 10 years younger than you but my lips look much worse. What's the secret? :)

Thank you it’s a liquid juvederm and only need doing every two years I only have the body of the lip done as I hate big lips. My practitioner is brilliant

That’s weird Lorna that a lot of clients who were disappointed with their concept face lift tell Amir that they are not happy but he seems to disregard what they tell him including me. The medical board he belongs to would possibly be interested in this attitude he has taken because it’s unethical and not professional at all. Surely so many clients being unhappy is not the way forward for this surgeon and it is unacceptable

Had mine done 18th ago same as you so much hard saved money that wasted I cannot believe there are so many people saying same thing

Thank you for your comment I’m disappointed with my neck as I said earlier he offered lipo but I don’t know if that will help. I’m considering although not excited at the prospect of doing it. I’m waiting for a year to pass as I’m not happy of traumatising my face again - not sure what else I can do for now

Please dont do the lipo. I did at extra cost as a revision and my neck is full of wrinkles now

No it's not! Removing the fat from under my chin has made my neck look more wrinkly. I still have 'bands' from under my chin and down the front of my neck and they are now more pronounced.

Lucky11111 is right! Lipo without tightening the area (unless you are under40ish) will cause the skin to collapse even more, hence more wrinkles.

Will be in touch Kitty Katz. I had to pay an extra £1000 for the lipo......my reason for revision was the strange hanging skin I had after the facelift , not fat. I was told it was lipo for skin tightening!!!!

This “Dr.” is in it for the money! I can’t believe this stuff he’s told you all. “The relaxed look”??? That’s why we want a face lift, to get rid of the relaxed look!!!! And doing lipo on wrinkled skin to tighten it, come on!!! Ladies that doesn’t even make sense. It’s time to start thinking, not trusting this man!!

Sometimes surgery doesn't give the results surgeon and patient had hoped for, I think that's a given. However, the crucial thing is, how does the surgeon deal with an obviously unsatisfactory result. It sounds extremely dodgy to me that this doctor seems to have a number of patients in a limited time frame (just judging by the reviews on realself) with unsatisfactory results. Statistically that's just bad, no matter how to look at it. Worse still is his way of dealing with it, or rather not dealing with it. Given the high cost of the procedure a revision free of charge is the minimum these patients should be offered.

The interesting thing is that he claims that he offers unsatisfied customers a revision free of charge. He has stated it even on this website, in Q&A section. However, in real life it seems like the opposite. Why say one thing here and then another thing to the customers? Sounds like false advertising.

Absolutely! His case really sounds like it should be taken up with the General Medical Council, but which patient has the time and patience to put in the effort. And I think that's what doctors like him are counting on. Unless a group of women gets together there's little chance he'll stop.

I've checked and he is on the GMC on the special registrar for plastic surgery, so even if you do everything right, do your research, check the special requirements etc. and think you have chosen a well qualified surgeon, you STILL can end up with a complete failure.

Yes, I read that too. None of the doctors that answered her question seemed to think her surgery was successful. In fact, all of them said she needed a revision as the original surgery failed to provide the requred result.

Cricricri11 absolutely I agree it wasn’t fear too! I am not so worried about the lines on my face as I have accepted I need laser or something called profhilo- so I may do that. The folds from mouth to chin am concerned but was assured by surgeon that the swelling is gone and this is the more relaxed look andnot stretched and that it won’t get any more relaxed. So I’ve accepted this FOR NOW! What is really worrying is my neck I seem to have a pocket of fat right under my chin which wasn’t there before which is why I didn’t go for lipo asmy neck was just rolls of skin - but now I’m noticing more rolls reappearing and when I wear a turtle neck jumper I have the same problem I had before surgery. I really don’t want to put myself through more surgery for fear it won’t work again or just the trauma - HOWEVER the surgeon has offered lipo and reported that this would give me a smooth tight look on my neck . I have to trust this is what will happen if I go ahead but I’m not sure which is why I said I would wait until 12 months has passed and it’s all settled down. I may ask for other professional opinions So I haven’t done anything other than had cheek filler to try to straighten the lines andlift the face which has helped. It’s like £9,500 and then the rest to account for like co2 laser is £2,400 and I’m not prepared to pay more at this stage. So that’s that for now. What did you do?

I have also read that if the lift does not address deeper layers , it will all be useless within a few months. How to make sure that the surgeon is doing what you need thou? :( . @amber jay: might i ask you who is the surgeon that explained you in details what might have happened? @Kitty Katz, i am sure a co2 laser will work wonders on the skin. Still not sure that liposuction would do much instead , not even for that pocket of fat under your chin :((((

I see what you’re saying but I was told the longevity of this was 8 to 10 years so if the surgeon is reporting this he must be addressing deeper layers? As I’m not a surgeon I trust what I’m told and there’s no way you would pay £10k for something to last a year? Interesting though because now I heard this from someone else!!!

Hi I was told the same had my concept face lift nearly 18mth ago and I agree with all the reviews my face has dropped neck dropped horizontal lines jowls look like I never had it done so much money years of saving for nothing

Anska 5, what do you mean that the surgeon was dismissive ? Did he not explain what he does ? What he offering some other options?

Sorry, I should have explained better. I enquired about a minifacelift and he was dismissive about minifacelifts in general, saying that they just don't offer lasting results. His words were 'you'll be back within a year for another procedure'. He only does SMAS facelifts because they address the real issue and in my case suggested a High SMAS.

Yes sure, I have to book the appointment so it will be end of January as I’m away. I know the photos in my not smiling face held up still look good but when I look slight down lines and folds of skin appear. Yesterday I notice some bands of skin around my neck too.

I know of others too. It seems like a lot of us are looking for another surgeon to repair what has been done and deliver what was promised by Amir. I honestly can't believe the amount of money we have all spent for what is proving to be a procedure that just doesn't work...

Kitty Katz, when Amber Jay and I spoke out over a year ago we were completely attacked by a number of 'reviewers'. It was actually quite unpleasant as they were trying to discredit what we were saying. I am just very sorry that so many more people have had to go through this since then

Yes I will do at 4 months this month nothings change since September but I’ll post scar pics as they do still tend to be raised at times but only behind ears Doesn’t stop me from wearing my hair up though
