Hyperpigmentation Post Resurfx for Stretch Marks

I’ve had white stretch marks for some time on my love handles and thighs. I decided to do Resurfx since i heard so much about it. However after two sessions i ended up with severe hyperpigmentation to say the least! I asked my dr if it was normal he said it’s because of my skin type and overproduction of melanin?! I was never told this in the beginning! He prescribed me a whitening cream called ACM depiwhite and I’ve been using it since. I haven’t seen any improvement thus far!
Please help me I’m so depressed from this :(
