Here’s all the gunk that was pulled out of my face!

WORTH IT$295
The aesthetician let me see what came out of the hydrafacial machine after my treatment You can see how cloudy the liquid is, plus dead skin and blackheads swirling around. Gross but super, super cool!

Day of treatment

I’m glowing!

I just got done with my Hydrafacial and I loved the experience! The first step was exfoliation, which felt like like suction combined with mild scrubbing. Then the technician applied a peel, which was a little tingly. Next she did the extractions which sucked the blackheads and gunk right out of my face! I opted for the growth serum boost which my skin soaked right up. She finished off with nice massaging, applied some products, and I was on my way.

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe how soft and glowy my skin feels and looks. I’m curious to see how much flow will remain after the serum washes off tomorrow.

Unfortunately I don’t see any miraculous reduction in my dark marks, but I’m sure that it takes a few treatments to see a difference.

All around it was a relaxing experience and I could see myself doing it again.

Did it really clear out your pores?
I’ve been reading that PRP injections get rid of dark circles.
Yep, there was a whole step where they pretty much vacuumed out the pores. They also said that they'd do manual extractions as part of the process if needed, but they didn't have to for me. I have a super oily nose and it was noticeably less clogged after, though not completely. I'll post a video, you can see all the grossness that came out of my pores floating in the liquid from the machine!

RealSelf employees receive aesthetic procedures too, and often want to share their experiences with the RealSelf community. This review reflects the experience of a RealSelf employee, and does not represent the opinion of RealSelf.

I’m a 30 year old African American woman who has always had very uneven skin tone and very easily scarred skin. On top of that, I have a tendency to get hormonal acne along my chin during my period. As a result, my face has lots of very dark marks.

I’ve found some success using glycolic + salicylic acid exfoliating pads every other night, along with moisturizer and sunscreen under my makeup every day. I want to take things to the next level, so I’ve been researching hydrafacial here on RealSelf.

I’ve contacted a med spa to set up a consultation, and I’m really excited! Hopefully this treatment is right for me. I’ve attached my before pictures, I can’t wait to see the after!

Please post your thoughts and results. I’m thinking about having it done too. I’m almost 60 and I get extremely deep white heads. But I have very sensitive skin..
I’m going to start a better skin routine. I know it’s a big investment at the first but at my age I have to keep up on things.
Good Luck❤️
Hi plastissurgery! I have slightly sensitive skin. I didn't notice any redness or irritation, but I did notice two pimples the day after the hydrafacial. I think that it's purging from the exfoliation. I have seen other reviews where people have had some negative reactions to the treatment, so you may want to check those out before you decide.
