13 days until surgery...have to change implant brand.
In the time since my consultation appointment, Sientra has voluntarily pulled their product off the market. Ugh! I am really disappointed because they definitely seem to be the latest and greatest implant offered. My PS is recommending switching to Allergan. From everything I have read, this switch is not the end of the world and the differences are negligable. Maybe like going from Maserati to Mercedes? Although, when you're talking about this much money and more importantly voluntary surgery, you really want to get what you want! My two concerns are firmness (Sientra seems to have the best "real" feel) and safety of cohesive v. gel-filled. Again, everything I have read says it is all very safe (of course with Sientra having slightly better capsular contracture rate and an excellent warranty). What to do?? I over think everything so I am going to try not to make myself crazy on this one. What would you do??
I have hated my stomach and breasts since I can...
I have hated my stomach and breasts since I can remember. I have stood in the mirror for years pushing and pulling, turning to certain angles to imagine what less belly and more (or even normal) breasts would look like. My stomach has never been flat (genetics are a [RS bleep]). Also, I have recently learned that I have mild tuberous breasts and ptosis. At 43 years old and 3 consults with plastic surgeons over the years, this is the first time anyone has told me this. These weird, small, puffy nippled, underdeveloped things that are disproportionally small to my frame have a name!!! I called my mother immediately and claimed victory "I TOLD YOU THEY WERE WEIRD!" She of course always took the road of "Love yourself, you look fine". NOPE. I don't. They're officially a deformity (that I am now totally justified in correcting). Fortunately I have a very supportive husband (who deep down is a boob-man), 2 beautiful pre-school aged children and no plans for more babies.
Once my husband and I decided that breast augmentation was something we would both like, I broke the news that I was going to need a tummy tuck as well. Putting larger breasts onto my post baby roly poly saggy skin belly was going to be a waste of a lot of money. Annnnnd since I'll already be under and the liposuction tool will be out...I will have the dr. rid my of my double chin.
Mommy makeover! New me! Coming soon and I can't wait!!!
I visited 3 doctors and much to my surprise got 3 different opinions. I had put my deposit down and booked surgery with one of the physicians the day after I met him. He was the second Dr. I had met but I was sure he was the one. I was so confident I considered canceling the consult with the third. After I booked the surgery and paid my non refundable deposit I emailed the contact I was given with all of my questions about the surgery. I had been assured that they are open and happy to answer all questions. However, a week later I had not heard back. So I emailed again, and immediately was told that my questions were forwarded to the nurse and I would hear from her. So in the mean time I did my due diligence and interviewed the 3rd Dr. Much to my surprise, I liked him more. I liked what he had to say more, his approach made more sense to me. He is the youngest of the 3 Drs, however the level of comfort I felt was so much more than with the others. He brought up the fact that I have tuberous breasts, and the challenges that will pose. Also, now that I was not hearing back from the physician I had booked my surgery with I really felt that I needed to change my mind. I decided to post my questions to RealSelf and see what the Drs had to say. They shared my concerns and most agreed with the third surgeons approach. So I have switched surgeons and feel very good about it.
The countdown is on --- 18 days to go!!

Provider Review
Dr. Seth Jones
The absolute best dr. It’s six years later and everything still looks and feels fantastic. Dr. Jones took a lot of time before, during and after surgery to make sure I was comfortable and that the outcome was successful. I cannot recommend him enough!
