Praying This is Not Permanent!

Ugh, I wish I'd checked RealSelf before I had this treatment!

40yo female, non smoker, non drinker, fit, healthy, good skin and complexion..

I decided to have my lip filler dissolved, I didn't hate it, but I felt like I'd like a more subtle enhancement, the Russian technique that is more popular at the moment. I know a lot of girls that have had their filler dissolved and I've never heard of any complaints or side effects so I asked my provider to dissolve my filler so that I might start over in a few months time..

You guy's I'm soo upset with how my face looks at the moment, my face is drooping, I have definitely lost tissue, there are HUGE dents in my upper lip area and chin. I look like a 90 year old woman, that has smoked 40 cigarettes a day! I look like my mother's mother!

I'm so, so worried that my face is going to stay like this permanently, or worse still, deteriorate even further. I wish I had looked on here first as I never would have had the procedure done had I known there were associated risks. I loved my face before truth be told, now I can't stand to look in the mirror.

I'll update here in a few weeks. Pray for me please.

I am really hoping that your own tissue rebounds. I had a bad result from getting some filler removed last week and I've read about it voraciously since. For some people it can take longer than a few days for things to return more to normal, and I'm trying to believe I'm one of those cases. I'm praying that you are too and please let us know what happens!

A cosmetic office is advertising they are injecting hylenex or hyaluronidase into bruises and ipl for bruises. That seems way too risky for a bruise. They are promoting it as safe

My camera is terrible as it has a built-in softening effect that can't be turned off, just adding this photo to demonstrate this permanent hole that has been left above my lip, explained by surgeons as the "buttonhole effect" created by damage to the smas layer. This damage is a lot more obvious in person sadly.

Hi all
Would it be an idea to start a group on recovery and how people can help with positive ideas, as I do agree. I have been on and off looking at comments on here as it triggers me immensely and puts me in a dark place and It’s not nice. I feel for all of us going through this, hopefully with positive steps and ideas we can all pull together to get through this x

I agree. I left the group for that reason as well. I’d be willing to make a group chat but it’d have to strictly be for positive milestones of recovery/ positive procedure outcomes only.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. How long after the hyaluronidase did these side effects start developing? Was it straight away or a few weeks after? I’m scared bc I had mine removed a few days ago

Hello, I’m sorry for what you’ve been through. Has it improved with time?
