Hi everyone. I saw this post and I became excited
https://www.realself.com/review/my-house-my-own-tca-peels-and-loving

I have scars on my face caused by acne but not deep though very visible. It's annoying me. I would like the scars to vanish. I read that tca peel can help. I'm an asian with light brown complexion but not so light. Can I do it myself? Which TCA peel % should I buy? And where can I find instructions?

Thanks in advance!

I posted this morning but I'm not sure where to find it. Does it have to be approved first by the moderator?
I just did a tca peel myself. I ordered it online. It was a while ago so I don't remember the percentage and the bottle has no marking. I didn't do anything to prepare just washed my face beforehand. I had a cup of water with baking soda ready for rinsing the tca off. Immediately after I started putting it on my face, i started on my nose where i have large pores, the burning feeling was extreme. I rinsed it immediately. Then I did it a little at a time and rinsed each time with baking soda and lots of cold water until I did my entire face. My skin turned white immediately too. Its been an hour and my face is still burning but its tolerabe now. I have been putting ice on it. Now I see why pain meds are prescribed when it's done in the doctors office. I have done other peels. Glycolic and lactic acids but it has never been this intense. With these I can leave it on for a few minutes and just a little stinging and really don't get any results. I will update in a few days with the results of this tca peel.
I looked it up. It was a medical grade 80% TCA. A small 4ml bottle for $7.99
Thanks a lot. Please keep me posted. I'm going to post a thread on Ask a Doctor as told to me by RealSelfChris. I'll attach pictures of my face.
I did a really high % which I do not recommend. I think it came out as it would if I did around a 25% and left it on a few minutes. With 80% I neutralized it immediatly after swiping it on and small areas at a time. I started off using a q-tip to apply it, those areas just got really dry and are starting to peel. Then i made the mistake of using a cotton ball to apply on other areas of my face and those areas got burned deeper, turned brown and reddish/pink, also now peeling.
I bet you had a very high consatration you should have diluted might have been 100% because TCA should not burn that much and it is self neutralizing
Keep moist ... How did it come out ????
Wish the best
Do not start with over 15% at home. Doctors will say not to do it at all.
I have had many chemical peels by professionals so I know what to expect. I wouldn't do above a 15-18 at home, especially on your first try.
If you do above a 20% plan on missing 1 week of work/school and risk your skin looking far worse than better if done incorrectly.
I have done Skin Obession and Perfect Image at home ranging in 15-20%. Both have sites with a lot of information and reviews on Amazon.
Doing a lower percentage will yield less dramatic results the first time but you can do it again without risking more scarring and disappearing for a week.
My other posts have finally been approved and published. You can see my 2 pics. Please comment. Thanks - https://www.realself.com/question/huntley-il-i-reduce-eliminate-scars-caused-acne-feel-comfortable-facing-people
Can't see any pictures
Do a spot test first....and keep skin moist till and while it peels....my take 5 or more days to peel but hang in there.

Vitamin E, coconut butter.....no creams with perfume because they are made by using natural gasses.
