I had the CO2 Laser treatment in both 2014 and 2015 and both times I have been amazed with the results.

Why did I do the COs laser?
1. The CO2 laser is the most amazing anti-aging treatment because it can fix all aging signs except dark spots. However, Dr. Kortesis is a wonderful doctor so he combines the CO2 laser with the IPL – which treats dark spots – thus, one treatment virtually fixes all aging issues. Since my 2014 treatment, Dr. Kortesis also added platelet rich plasma injections (PRP) to the laser to give the face a natural plumpness and to further stimulate collagen and speed up healing time.
2. The CO2 laser is performed under general anesthesia so I didn’t have to suffer through a painful treatment.
3. The CO2 Laser is the gift that keeps on giving. You will see results as soon as one week but the results continue to improve month after month and last for several years.
4. I love the convenience of getting all the results I want with just one treatment, one recovery.

There is only one drawback to the CO2 laser treatment and that's the recovery. For one week I had Vaseline all over my face and my face went through a series of itching, oozing, weeping, smelling, a lot of redness and lots of swelling. However, Dr. Kortesis, his nurses and my aesthetician did a great job in explaining to me what to expect about the recovery and reassured me everyday my face was healing well. Yes, the recovery is intense but it's so worthy that I'm looking forward to my next treatment. Since my first CO2 laser, I stopped wearing foundation because my skin is perfect; I have nothing to hide. Tonight, while I was washing my face, I was looking in the mirror and I was still in awe at how amazing my skin looks; it's perfect. I may sound confident and maybe cocky but you can blame the confidence on the CO2 laser :)

The CO2 laser is a powerful laser that can do a lot of good but also a lot of bad if the doctor doesn't know what he is doing. I had the CO2 Laser with Dr. Kortesis twice already and each time, I received the best treatment and outmost care. I have trusted Dr. Kortesis first with my breast augmentation in 2013 and now with my face and he has been the best doctor to me.

Your photos tell all! Your skin looks radiant!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience -- it's good to know that CO2 combined with IPL is an effective treatment for dark spots.

You mention that during your recovery there was a smell, what do you mean by that?

It was so cool when I took a few selfies at my 2 week mark and compared them with the pictures I took before. I was in awe just looking at pictures.
A day or so into recovery, the face starts to smell. In 2014, the smell lasted for about 2 and a half days. In 2015, my face smelled only for about half a day; second treatment gave me a much easier and faster recovery.
In 2014, I had the CO2 laser with the IPL. In 2015, I had the CO2 laser, the IPL and PRP injections and also Ultheraphy on my face and neck.

I would love to ask you some questions.
I just got the C0 2 full face laser....
Incredible ,amazing, and I had heavy wrinkles and sun damage.
Who cares about the 10 day peeling ,oozing etc
Question, it's only been 3 weeks.... Really wished the deep lower lip and chin wrinkles would be gone....they are much improved...but still there....will they keep improving ? Can I get another C02 later on them? What have you done to maintain your face looking flawless afterwards?
Thanks so much!
Happy New Year!

Hi Linda,
Obviously I'm not a doctor but as far as I know you can repeat the CO2 laser. I had one in 2014 and then in 2015. Based on my experience, the results you see now will keep improving up until about 3 months.
What I've done to maintain the results?... First, I have repeated the CO2 laser a year later. Second, I'm using Retin-A on a regular basis, sunscreen everyday, and I use my Clarisonic brush everyday.
I'm so glad you are happy with the results you have so far. I agree... who cares about the peeling, oozing, etc... all that recovery is so worth it! :)

Thanks, I might have to give your doctor a call. Obviously He knows how to do it without scarring the second time. .
Two more questions....did you get the second one for places to improve? Or full face?
The injections both times? And how long do you think they last?
I ve never heard of them combined with laser. One more.... It was only $ 3 000 ? Try double that for mine.
Thanks again..
Still amazed at the results.....incredible.

If you see Dr. Kortesis, you're going to be so happy with him. He's been my doctor for over two years now and he is the best! He cares and works tirelessly to make sure his patients get good results. I also like him because he's honest and realistic about the results I can expect.

I had the second CO2 laser to maintain the perfect state of my skin the first CO2 laser gave me. If you read my reply to johntfanos from above, I explained in a bit more detail why I had the laser again in 2015.

In 2014, I didn't do the PRP injections because Dr. Kortesis was not offering those then. I don't know how long they last... probably Dr. Kortesis can answer that question. I've been reading online about them and I found all kinds of answers. Based on my experience this is what I see: I don't think they can replace fillers especially in the cheeks which require more volume but for places around the corners of my mouth and underneath my eyes, they've been great! I like them because they give me a natural, subtle plumpness. But I haven't had them done for long enough to know how long I'm going to see these results.

In 2014, when I only had the CO2 laser and the IPL, I remember paying about $3,000. Maybe it was a bit more but I don't think a lot more over $3,000. In 2015, I had the CO2 laser, the IPL, the PRP injections and Ultheraphy on my face and neck (everything was done under general anesthesia) and I paid close to $9,200. The Ultheraphy was the most expensive.

You Rock. Thank you. I'm going in today for 3 week check up.
If I hadn't seen your face or heard about other combined treatments , I would have thought this is the best I would see......knowing it's still improving though.
That last price sounds more like I expected.
I will let you know what he says.
Last question for today lol, did your face' fall off 'as much the second time as the first? As much down time as well?
Thanks again.
Definitely will be getting on his website.

The second recovery for me was much easier. I don't know if that's what happens with everyone, but for me the second time, I had let swelling, less redness, less of everything. My face recovered quicker. Good luck with your follow up appointment!

Why did you have to do it twice in 2014 and in 2015? Shouldn't it last several years as you have mentioned?
January 4, 2016
Yes, the results last for several years. I decided to have the CO2 laser again in 2015 for several reasons:
1. After my first CO2 laser my skin was perfect so I stopped wearing foundation. My skin was blemish free, the pores were invisible, the skin was almost like baby skin. I wanted to maintain that perfect skin because it's amazing to have perfect skin everyday.
2. I know my face will get old and wrinkly but I also know that things like the CO2 laser will prevent and delay the signs of aging. At this point, while I'm still in my 30s, I have zero tolerance for signs of aging on my face and I knew a second CO2 laser will continue to keep my face youthful.
3. I really wanted to have Ultheraphy done on my face and neck but I know they hurt a lot! So I knew if I have the CO2 laser, I can have Ultheraphy that same day, while under anesthesia so I didn't have to put up with the pain of Ultheraphy.
To sum it all up, my second CO2 laser was for maintenance and prevention rather than fixing issues.

Looks great.

Thank you! Even though my goal was to maintain the great results from my first treatment, I actually got a further improvement so I'm very happy! :)

Ok, follow up appt.....yes he will do another treatment after a year . Never mentioned the injectable with it.
I will have time to go to see your Dr in the meantime.
How much is a consultation?
Thanks, Linda
January 4, 2016
I think a consultation is either $150 or $200... I haven't paid for a consultation appointment in 2 and half years so I'm not sure of the amount. I have to tell you Dr. Kortesis is expensive but every experience I had with him has been outstanding. He did my breast augmentation, the two CO2 lasers, Botox every 3 months and fillers. I live over an hour away from his office but I don't mind the drive because a good doctor is worth the drive.
