You look great!! I am scheduled for a body lift in a few weeks. Would you be willing to talk with me to give me some pointers and ease some nerves?

After the operation and they bring you back to your room you are pretty much out of it. I had a morphine drip plus percocet every four hours. It was hard to scoot up to the top of the bed because everything is numb and feels like it weighs a ton. Two nurses had to scoot me up. You will be expected to get up and walk a little that day. You will feel very weak but it's normal. The more you walk the better you'll feel. I had 3 drains which was the most aggravating part. I took miralax everyday so I wouldn't get constipated. Also I got my dr to prescribe me some cough suppressant. Coughing really hurt. Don't be nervous about this operation. It's just the idea of it that makes it bad. They will give you plenty of pain meds to ease any pain. Hope you love your new body. I do : )

You look amazing. Can you tell me if you had any overnight stays in the hospital and how was the pain the first week?

I am recovering beautifully! I am finally sleeping a little on my side instead of flat on my back. I am lifting light weights and doing an hour on the elliptical each day. I could push myself to do more but I do not want to compromise my incision in anyway, as this scar is a permanent fixture to my body now and I want to keep it a tiny white line. Needless to say my size 10's are falling off of me, which is an awesome thing!
Went to see Dr Kortesis last week, it is so great to see his excitment in the change my body has taken and to be called tiny really doesnt hurt my feelings either! lol The scar looks amazing and after a little discussion, Dr K and I both agreed that the 3m tape is amazing and since my skin was not irritated, we would go another 2 weeks with tape. I was absolutely fine with that as I have had such great results with this tape. So in 2 more weeks I will have it removed and start the scar cream that he provides his patients which is a silicone based product which is really great. I am still wearing my compression garment as well. This again is worth wearing. It really does help with your shape and swelling. Dr K says I still have some swelling in the rear area and that I will get smaller. I am just in awe of these results and to know they will just get better.
I use the word amazing a lot when I speak of Dr K and it's because I know no other word to describle his talent, bedside manner and friendship through this entire process. Certainly a blessing to me.

You look spectacular! Clearly you selected a wonderful surgeon. What kind of tape have you been using? Silicone?

Super thrilled with the progress my body is making and seeing the swelling go down. Dr k removed 10#s and I've matched that with another 10# loss. Went to see Dr Kortesis last Thursday where they removed the stitches on my hips. This was the only place he used non dissolvable stitches due to it is where the most tension occurs with a body lift. Removable wasn't painful at all:). They taped my sides back up and I'll go back in 2 weeks.
This week I started walking 3 miles a day. It was a little tough at first but by the end of the week it was a lot easier and I got faster lol. This 3 rd week is also the first week I am able to carefully put on my own socks and shoes. I actually could bend this week to shave my legs hahaha.
I look forward to getting to workout hard again but I know that will come in a few weeks. Tried on last years summer shorts and they fell off of me! Woohoo! I'm loving fashion right now because things fit so great! And I still have some swelling to get rid of. For once I'm excited to go bathing suit shopping this spring !
Attaching 3 week pics- loving the progress! Thankful for dr Kortesis and his staff for their amazing work, support & friendship!
