For years I have wanted a breast augmentation due to my pear shaped figure so that I could feel better proportioned and 'normal'. Tired of wearing padded push-up bras, being unable to wear strapless dresses, looking flat in workout clothes and swim suits and a general feeling of self-consciousness about myself were my motivations. I was nervous about having the surgery and coming out looking like I had big fake boobs. My goal has always been to look as natural and well proportioned as possible. I carefully researched local surgeons and was ultimately won over by Hunstad-Kortesis as a result of talking to past patients, reviewing the photo gallery and by attending the after-hours event in which I was able to talk to Dr. Kortesis one on one in a non-threatening relaxed atmosphere. At my first appointment I was able to view a computer generated image of what I could expect based on the implants and size I was interested in. I truly could not be more pleased with my result. My expectations were vastly exceeded and I wish I hadn't waited so long to do this! The Mentor memory shape implants are awesome and I am proud about how I look and feel for the first time in my memory. I also had Axilla Bilateral Lipo and although the recovery from that was much worse than the augmentation, I am so glad I had it done as I have hated those little fat pooches since I was 12. I've referred to my surgeon as an artist- that is how strongly I feel about my experience and my 'after'results. My advice to all considering these procedures is to do your research, be honest about your goals with your doctor, rely on his/her professional guidance, and don't let cost alone be your decision maker.
