My Hump Rhinoplasty Result in Korea

My Hump Rhinoplasty Result in Korea

I got my rhinoplasty 3 months ago, and I think it was one of the best decisions I made. I had a prominent hump on my nose and it's so prominent especially when I take pictures. I decided to get rhinoplasty and started saving up. Dr. Lee was calm and he explained everything in detail, and he was so nice and patient with all my questions.

Day of surgery

I had my rhinoplasty under sedation, and I was sooo nervous. I consulted with Dr. Lee again on that day and he explained thoroughly about the surgery, and the translator Min was with me the whole time. She was also with me in the waiting room telling me not to be nervous, but I can't help being nervous. Then they took me to the operating room and lied there, where they started to disinfect me and told me they were going to put me under. I remember vaguely like I was spinning around the whole time, and I was so dizzy when I woke up. I was so sure I was okay to go home and when I stood up everything around me was spinning again, so I lied on the bed again lol. I went home and I was so hungry from fasting all day and had something to eat and slept. I woke up super swollen.

I took out the packing the next day and got my stitches and cast removed on the 1st week.
1 week

My face got very swollen, so I did cold and warm compress for the first week. I used ear cartilage, and I got some bad bruising on my ear, maybe I'm sensitive, but I didn't know it would get that bad. It went away the next week though. Honestly when they took off my cast I was so surprised and upset because my nose was too high and my tip was still so round. I told Min but she told me not to worry because I just took off the cast. I continued to use the ice pack and went for strolls hoping for the swelling to recede faster. The swelling on my nose bridge started to go away after a while.

1~2 months

I could see the swelling dramatically receding up to the first month, especially on my nose bridge, but I was still worried because the tip was still slightly big to me. The swelling receded a lot but I felt like the skin on my nose was still hard and stiff. I also had some stinging feelings at times. I was able to breathe normally around 1 month post-op but I still had trouble with wearing clothes. like I was worried I would ruin my nose if I wore turtlenecks.

3 months

I'm 3 months post-op now, I think overall the swelling went away. The sensation on the tip is back, the skin is softer but still stiff. I can talk normally now. I like where my tip is, and mostly I like how I don't have the bump on my nose anymore. I was worried my nose would look too pinched after my rhino but thankfully its not. I'm excited to see more definition on my nose as the swelling goes away!
