I waited a while before posting my response. I was a bit medicated, emotional, doubtful, and just not up to writing honestly. My surgery was just a mere two weeks ago but it feels like forever! I started going a bit stir crazy around day 7.
This journey has been pretty great. I had a great surgeon. Dr Kratschmer did an excellent job that i believe gave my body the best results.
I also had a hernia repair during the surgery. My hernia was pretty Bad. I had 3 kids so of course that made my hernia worse and oh...I lift weights...without my support belt most times so yeah...
My stomach looked terrible before the surgery. Ppl we're always asking if I was pregnant. I hated it. This surgery has helped change my body image and my self esteem drastically. I had put on weight over the years from depression and I was obsessed w working out. My tummy tuck has finally given me the physical appearance I've been longing for. I cry every now and then because I can't believe it's gone. The stomach I had before was limiting me from being successful and happy in life. Seriously. I work in the fashion industry but couldn't wear any of the clothes. Now I can! I'm so happy. Although I'm swollen and only two weeks post op, I look fantastic!

AW! Thank you. When I look at myself I still see fat or I feel like there's a phantom stomach there LOL. It's all in my head and I'm working on accepting my new SVELTE sexy body.

So how do u feel at two weeks post op? I have my TT/breast lift scheduled for Nov 21 and wondered of 2 weeks off work would be OK.

At two weeks post op I still felt a bit yucky but not quite as out of sorts as I did the first 4 days. LOL. As you know everyone's body is different but I would say you need at least 4 weeks grace period so you can give yourself time to recover, rest, give yourself a recovery test run ie going to stores and walking around, driving etc. Pushing yourself to recover is not good for you. I know from experience :(

Compression Garments

ReginaMoretto
I think I may have done a little damage. I've been up doing a lot more walking than I should, cleaning house, and more...I'm really feeling the effects of over exerting myself and I'm a little scared. My 6 week follow up appointment is Thursday so I'll see where I'm at as far as re injuring myself. I am trying to keep the weight that I lost in the beginning off but I'm at a bit of a stalemate. I'm in pain standing up and cooking for myself and I'm home all day by myself so it has become convenient to order in...
I'm a little sad. My mother in law sent a compression garment that got lost in the mail and it was sent back to her. I've been wearing my old spanx zip up thingy but now it's a little loose. I have another compression like garment thingy that I pull on like shorts...it's tight like it's supposed to but oh my goodness it's miserable to sleep in and pull off to go to the bathroom. I see on amazon some better ones but they are like 98.00. SIGH...I'll probably buy them eventually. I hope I havent ruined my procedure with doing too much activity, being depressed, ordering in, and just I don't know...
I wish I had a better idea of how to better take care of myself during recovery. The what to do after a tummy tuck guide was great for the first 3 weeks. It was my post surgery bible but now at this point everyone expects me to be fully recovered and I dont know what to do.

I am in Houston too. I am looking to get a tummy tuck pretty soon, after I finish losing all my weight I gained while I was pregnant. Did you Doctor really only charge you 5,500? If so, I need to call him!
