Review for Dr. Funk - Houston, TX

From the moment I called and booked my consultation with Dr Funk, I knew that the experience was going to be good. Leah, Lindsey, and Dr Funk are all genuinely nice and you can tell they are passionate about what they do. I originally had rhinoplasty surgery in 2002 and never was happy with the results. In fact, I wish I never had the surgery and actually felt I looked prettier before ... which is heavy on your heart carrying around that regret. I always had a large nose with a bump. I was picked on from a young age; called everything from Pinocchio to Witch. It seemed the older I got, the bigger my nose grew, and those nicknames continued to haunt me. I hated pictures of myself and would even make a point to not sit next to someone so they weren't staring at my profile. After years of saving money and having the courage to admit to family and friends I had this insecurity, I booked my surgery with everyone's support. But after all the money spent and experiencing the pain from the old technique of "packing"the nose, I still had a large nose, but now had extra tip work done that didn't look natural at all. Talk about regret and embarrassment!!
It's now 12 years later, and I just had my revision rhinoplasty with Dr Funk, and I keep asking myself WHY it took me so long to do this!! I am only a month post-op, but can already see a huge improvement. My nose is so much shorter and the tip has been reworked to look the way it always should have. Dr Funk was able to show me how I should look proportionately, and was able to see how I wanted to see myself. I still look like me, which is important, and oddly enough most people don't even notice. The surgery was exact opposite of how I remember the first. There was NO pain and NO bruising.... and NO packing this time around. The only discomfort was feeling congested the first couple days. I am still amazed at how great I feel, both inside and out. Dr Funk has made me feel so comfortable throughout this whole process. It's emotional... it's personal ... and I can honestly say I could not have picked a more passionate and knowledgeable doctor to let manage and share this experience with.
