So far I've been contemplating about the long term effects of Acne and Milia on the face, and so far I can assure you the scarring is beyond the visible spectrum. From the active Milia still residing on my face and the random cystic acne I get every now and then (haven't gotten any so far since treatment), I still can feel the effects of depression and lack of confidence of having such a horrible condition affecting me since I was 12. I am now 24 and have reached out to a Dermatologist to help seek my condition ( I do insist that my condition is not as bad as others may be enduring, but I do have my sympathy towards them and understand their pain), I was given Retin-A (Trentinoin) and Antibiotics (DoxxyCycline to be exact) and hopefully I will gain results from this life long stalemate. This is simply my first months results, and hopefully it improves

I have used everything finally found my Holy grail. Neutrogena facial bar for acne skin. If I feel a deep pimple coming on dip a qtip in rubbing alcohol and place over zit for few sec. Twice a day. Over half the time it stops it from forming. Moisturizer after cleansing

Don't eat fruit, no dairy, eat cruciferous vegetables every day - no sugar! Get some probiotics, drink green vegetable juices, carrot juice once in awhile, take zinc when things flare up or you have a date! Acne IS diet related - sorry all you dermatologists!

Retin a or thermage or both caused me to lose subcutaneous fat in my face, my skin is ruined read all negative posts and worry, some if these prescriptions are really not safe ! There are better ways!

I have so much acne scars left after using retin-A for a year, my skin was uneven, rough and red/dark spots everywhere, even worse than your skin. But I went to dermatologist to get chemical peelings, once a week for light peel and once a month for deeper peel. It works great for these past two months :) I really recommend it to you

Still a stalemate

Retina has been a lost cause. It has continued to make my face worse 2 months in with diminishing results. I highly suggest to stay away from it or find an alternative.

Sorry to hear that. Have you spoken with your dermatologist about any other treatments?

retina is something you have to use for a long time. and your skin does get worse before it gets better. it's not a quick fix

This is true. I've been using Retin A micro .01% for 3 months now on my face, neck and chest. My skin is now looking excellent, but the first 3 months have not been easy. You have to give it quite a while to see positive results.

You need to try Tepezcohuite face cream to moisturize every morning and every night over the Retin A. This cream is AMAZING and will help heal everything including the acne.

I second that Noonie - I love Tepezcohuite, I use the pomade and it's so healing. Have you ever tried the soap?
May 22, 2015
Actually Eva, I just ordered the soap and it is on it's way right now!! The cream has seriously been a miracle cream since the first day I used it. My 14 year old daughter is using it as well, and it is actually helping to heal pimples when they appear. I use the cream every night on top of my Retin A which I use on my face, neck and chest. There is no other moisturizing cream I would bother using over the Retin A than the Tepezcohuite. It eliminates all side effects of the Retin A. Everyone should know about it and use it!!
