I don't see a lot of reviews by men on liposuction...

I don't see a lot of reviews by men on liposuction specially older men above 50. I guess it's just in our nature to keep these things private for whatever reason. I kept seeing positive reviews for other doctors by brand new members with no pictures or pricing or experience details so that didn't help me much and just made me wonder if they were fake reviews. So I wanted to pay it back to the community for those that have posted and of which I have gained valuable advice and direction to help me. Sorry if it is long and drawn out but I want to be as detailed as possible. I will also break it down into sections as to make sure the pictures load in the proper sequence.
I had SmartLipo done last year by an unnamed outfit out of Seguin TX and was not at all happy with the results. The areas done looked uneven and and when it brought it up to the doctor she pretty much dismissed it as that is just how my body is built. I understand no one has a perfectly symmetrical body but having obvious amounts of fat left on one side as opposed to the other was a whole other thing. But that's what I get for being lured in by the cheap specials and bait and switch sales tactics. But this review is not about that but rather the results I got from Dr. Hennessy at Doun-siz Lipo in Houston.
Dr, Hennessy only performs PAL or Power Assisted Liposuction so I had never even considered him before as I was dead set on believing Smart Lipo was the only way to go. Turns out I was so misinformed. I emailed Dr Hennesy and was able to get an estimate of what he could do and what it would cost me through pictures I sent in emails. I got a great price as I was flying in from out of state for the procedure to include re-doing my flanks or love handles and back and added my chest this time as I had gotten some major man boobs I have been self conscious of last few years.
I paid my deposit and we set the date and he sent my prescriptions to the nearby CVS for me to fill the day before my procedure.

Long awaited procedure day
anfloNovember 12, 2017
I flew into Houston on Monday night and stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn that was right next to the Medical Plaza (old site he has since moved just a bit further up the road). I stopped by CVS across the freeway to pick up my prescriptions and got ready for the next day.
I arrived at the clinic at 9am. Dr Hennessy's assistant came out and we took care of the final payment and paperwork. She asked if I had eaten a small breakfast which I had then had me take some of the meds right then and there while I waited. 30 minutes later I was dressed up or down for surgery.
The Dr came in and we talked about the areas that we were addressing and he marked them up on me. Asked me if I agreed which was great as the previous Dr never even acknowledged my concerns.
So first was some stuff they rubb on you for sterilization or something then they start to give you numbing shots where they will be doing the incisions for the tumescent fluid and liposucction rod.
Then he does the incisions and starts to inject you with the tumescent numbing fluid. The whole time he and his assistant are asking and making sure you are ok and letting you know what exactly they are doing.
Once I was numb he started to lipo out my flanks and back then my chest. He would always make sure I was ok and a couple times where it seemed a certain area wasn't numb enough he would stop to inject more numbing fluid and wait for it to take effect and continue.
He had me stand up to look at things a little better then saw some areas that needed fine tuning. He also asked if I saw something as well and addressed those also.
When we were done they both wrapped me up in a vest compression garment and a waist compression band.
We started the procedure about 10am or so and got done by about 1pm.
Now I must say I am by no means someone with a high tolerance for pain but I did not find this procedure painful like some people have. The only real discomfort was the first numbing shots but even those weren't that bad as the medication you get before the surgery really calms you down. I think some people might work themselves up some and get so nervous they make it worse on themselves than it really is.
Even after the procedure it is really not painful but rather more of a discomfort like a tightness or slight soreness like you've had a killer workout and that doesn't really start till about the 3rd or 4th day. For me the day of and the day after felt like I didn't really have anything done. Even after the first failed procedure with the other Dr in Seguin last year I went back to the doctor the next day for a follow up and was walking around like nothing happened.
I think having had this procedure done once before had put me at ease and had a better idea of what was expected.
What I like about this procedure with Dr Hennessy was that I was awake and fully conscious the whole time but relaxed enough to where last year with the first SmartLipo procedure that doctor gave me so many meds I actually either slept through the whole procedure or blacked out as the only thing I rememebered from that one was them giving me meds prior to procedure then waking me up to let me know my driver was there to pick me up. Some people might prefer it that way but I like being aware of what's going on.
There was a lot of bruising mostly in the chest area for a few days but there was some fibrous tissue there that the Dr really had to pound through with the PAL canula. I'm glad I did not go back to that Dr in Seguin for the Smart Lipo cause that would not have given me even close to the results I got with PAL.

A week after procedure
anfloNovember 12, 2017
So one week later the bruising was going down and going through that funky yellow purple stage. It looks worse than it really feels. It is not painful just feel the tightness that is a little annoying at times.
I am wearing my compression vest and started wearing the Under Armour Compression sleeveless tshirt underneath that helps with the chafing and indentations.
Only one week out and I could already see a huge improvement. Biggest difference was the manboobs that weren't hanging down anymore. I was concerned about any loose skin but wore my compression garments religiously. And even to this day I've gotten used to wearing the Under Armour compression shirts as undershirts.
