Ive been in braces for 2 years now and I had surgery 4 days ago. Surgeon said I only needed upper jaw because my bite fit perfect with it just moved forward and down a little. I always had issues with my upper teeth not showing but what made me start this journey was a tmj issue along with a crossbite. So far I cant tell if my upper teeth will show any when I smile. My upper lip and cheeks are still numb and I cant really move them . My surgeon was knowledgable and answered all my questions as I asked them. Ive been in a small amount of pain but today just seems a little better than yesterday.

Wow, you're looking great so soon after surgery! Are you banded shut?

Thank you! I had 2 rubber bands at the front but they were removed yesterday after my 4 day post op.

I had the same surgery 14 months ago. It will make a noticeable difference in your smile. You appear to have needed minimal procedures. My experience is that this surgery when properly done, makes a huge difference. It did in my case.

Still very puffy. I woke up with a burning sensation at my upper lip but it slowly went away. Overall I feel im doing better. I still cant move my upper lip at all. I was told I had botox to prevent any movement so I dont grind and clench as I tend to do throughout the day.

Zero pain today. I was up and working on my real estate stuff today. Upper lip is still really numb and pretty swollen. But no pain which makes me really happy.
