$14,000
I suffered from abdominal separation after having three children and my breast were lifeless. My body looks better I wish I had my pre op pictures to post. About six months ago I had a TT and breast augmentation. The implants are under the muscle and silicone. I was told I have poor skin quality which resulted in a vertical incision during the initial consult the possibility of a vertical cut was not mentioned. I can see rippling in my implant for the same reason. My doctor actually showed up for my final appt and was pleased with his work and told me a more firm implant could reduce the rippling but wasn't worth another surgery. He told me he would fix my hernia during the TT but that did not happen. He said just go to a general surgeon to have the hernia worked on. If he wasn't going to do it then he should have told me that prior to surgery.

Wow. If you can make it to the Austin area, my doctor is amazing and may be able to help you. He's an MD and he has wonderful skill. He's an honest, no bs guy and I think is due to the fact that he is a doctor and a PS. Dr. McGee in Round Rock. Amazing staff and very fair prices. Also, is there a way you can seek legal action? I'd contact the board of plastic surgery with your results and complaints. I bet they'd be helpful.

I feel so lost like I don't know where to start. Coming to Austin may be a possibility especially since you speak so highly of your PS. I haven't even looked into any legal action. I had a second opinion from a local PS of course he said he could fix everything, but he suggested that I get a CAT scan done to see what exactly was or was not done during my surgery

I think a CAT scan would be needed just to make sure no drains or stints were left in. Seems odd that you'd have so much puffiness in the belly regardless of the incision. I urge you to call Dr. McGee and possibly send him your photos. He's wonderful and won't sugar coat anything. If you do make an appointment or find yourself in my area, you're more than welcome to pick my brain in person. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. It's a lot of money to spend and it seems like even more when the results are sub par. Hang in there!

I told my husband if I wanted sub par results I would have gone out of the country!! It was a lot of money. I will definitely keep in touch. Thank you so much for the information. I will try to contact McGee via email and if it works out that I can come to Austin I will let you know. Thank you for letting me know I'm not crazy or overreacting.

Well I am here to report that I had a CT Scan done and it showed the muscles were still separated another surgeon actually corrected it and now they are nice and tight. It came down to skill and technique. Basu skills are not up to par and his technique could use improvement. I don't see how one doctor says it is impossible to get my muscle together and another says I can and will fix you!

I'm so sorry that happen to you! I don't think it is right that you went into surgery not expecting what he did. Did he give you any other explanation besides- "you didn't have good skin quality"? I would get another opinion/ consult to fix the problem if you can. Just does't seem right. I'm having a TT on the 5th of Aug. - I live in Houston also. Ive had an issue before with a PS telling me one thing and it was totally something else after he finished. Very devastating... I wish you the best..

I had three pregnancies within four years so everything was very stretched out. I don't have very much breast tissue to cover the implant and the skin quality was the issue with the TT that was pretty much the explanation for the two procedures. I joined this site to get advice on moving forward with a new surgeon and to hear how others handled similar situations. How did you handle what happened to you? Best wishes for you on your upcoming TT! Keep us posted.

I am so sorry to hear about your experience. I live in the Houston area, actually, The Woodlands and just had a breast lift and augmentation. Dr Ciaravino was my plastic surgeon. He was fantastic. I felt like he listened to me and did a perfect job on my breast. He has a reputation for fixing other PS goofs, for lack of a better term. His office is in Greenway Plaza. Check out his website, thebodydoc.com. I urge you to go see him to repair this. It was well worth the drive for me and am so glad I did. BTW my surgery was May 1, 2014. Good Luck!

I went to Dr. C a while back but he was not able to help me even though I heard he is awesome. My situation was complex and Dr. Lomonaco saved me!!! Hope you are doing well too:)

General Surgeon : Hernia
Long story short because I have had a tummy tuck the blood supply to he belly button has been compromised and I can't have it done laparoscopy because he can't put enough air in my abdomen and allow him enough work space. The only way is to do it open but that increases the risk of infection and I will be in lots of pain having the mesh tacted to my muscle. I wish the hernia was addressed during my tummy tuck while I was already open and asleep :( at least he was honest...
Also the other plastic surgeons don't want to mess with the bulge in the middle. I'm stuck with a hernia and bulging stomach.

I really appreciate you posting your experience. I've been searching for a reputable PS in the Houston area for a mommy makeover, but in my opinion, it appears they all have one area of expertise ..not in both tummy or breast surgeries. Two years ago I had Dr.CIARAVINO fix my botched breast augmentation and he did an amazing job! I highly recommend him for breast surgery. I've been thinking about returning to him for a lift now, but don't know who to go to for a fantastic TT. Maybe Austin? Would be great to hear if you did venture to Austin after all. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing your experience as well! I agree with you that surgeons have a specialty. I'm learning as I go. I have heard many great things Dr. Ciaravino and I know one of the girls who works for him. She has told me to come in because he never lets a patient leave dissatisfied. My hesitation with going to a doctor out of town is that I want to be driving distance for my post op visits. How would you handle that aspect of it? If you venture out keep me posted!
Thanks:)

@ap21- Dr Paul gill from Houston Texas did my tummy tuck and I love my results. He uses a flap technique so the belly button isn't a perfect oval scar, look at my review and my belly button if you haven't had your tummy tuck yet and would like to see his work.
