Still Hoping for a Better Body - Houston, TX

UPDATED FROM JPkid

Almost three months out

$1,100
I haven't posted pictures much because there hasn't been too much change, and the changes I do see are a little disappointing. As the swelling goes down, some of the ripples are reappearing. But still, it looks SOOOO much better than what the first surgeon left me with. At least the shape is better, and it is a little smoother. I can't complain, since Dr. Jung did warn me that he might not be able to do much with that mess (he didn't put it that way : ) And I'm still hoping it will smooth out more as I continue to massage it, since there are still some slightly hard spots that I think will soften up. The dips where my hipbones protrude are there to stay - Dr. Jung didn't bother to try to fill them, as he said that fat usually doesn't stay in a place that was that close to the bone. The "breasts" the first guy tried to create were awful, lumpy things, and Dr. Jung did make them look nicer, even though I probably won't even fit a AA bra. At least my chest is no longer concave, and I look like a very scarred-up adolescent. Lol.

One month post op

One month out, and some days my belly looks much better, some days not so much. Probably has to do wrinkles in the compression garment or something, but I'm being super careful to smooth the garment out regularly. The surgeon actually told me I could gradually ease out of it, but I'm going to wear it for the full six weeks he originally said, and probably even for the full three months based on some comments here. I'm not taking any chances! I've gotten lymphatic massages to help smooth it out, also, but I'm not real impressed with the results of that. The lady who does them is super nice, and she assures me the massages will improve the results. We'll see. Sadly, the nice little breasts this surgeon made for me have flattened out quite a bit, as I knew would happen when the swelling subsided, but at least they are smoother - no more cauliflower clumps up there!

Hi hun! God I wish my stomach looked like yours, you really don't have a lot of bumps and dips. By the way, I read on this sight, a few ppl actually about putting some foam (I think it was foam) on your tummy under the garment to avoid the ripples. Sounded like a good idea
Oh, hi, I just responded on YOUR review, oops. Thanks, I took those last pics on a "good" day, but I'm hopeful. This procedure might work for you if you're willing to risk it. The surgeon gave me a nice foam pad to wear, he said to stop using it after a week, but I'm still using it as much as possible - it makes me look fat, lol!
Hi! I'm so happy to hear you're hopeful!! That's really good news. I know its easy for me to say but I see a difference, it looks So MUCH better. I'm sure it'll continue in that direction. So the foam stops the garment from rippling? I swear the garment has something to do with the bad results but not as much as the surgeon of course. The most that I worry about with the TT is the size of the scar, is yours small? Thank you so much for responding, it really helps to be able to reach out to someone who knows what I'm going through.
Yes, because the foam is thick, it doesn't wrinkle like the compression garment does, so it's like a smooth barrier that protects my belly from the creases the garment would put on my skin. Supposedly those wrinkles from the garment don't stay, but I feel like if the skin is pressed into that crease every day for several weeks, the skin will retain that fold. I'm not taking any chances this time : ). The nice thing here is, I did not have a tummy tuck, even though my original surgeon insisted that was the only thing that could help me because, according to him, it was just loose skin caused from the fat being gone, like those people who lose over 100 pounds and have loose skin. I thought that was ridiculous, since he had asked me to GAIN weight for the surgery, (for the fat transfer to breasts) so whatever fat he sucked out had only been there a week or two, not long enough to stretch out my skin like that! This surgeon, Dr. Jung, that is doing the "revision" said that the first guy was too "aggressive" with the cannula, and that a tummy tuck was not necessary. Dr. Jung used his hands to stretch out the skin on my belly to demonstrate what a tummy tuck would achieve - the dips and ripples were still there, just stretched out : 0 . This is the procedure Dr. Jung used - first he used some kind of instrument to loosen the skin on my belly from the fat and scar tissue in the hopes that it would re-attach more smoothly. Then he used Vaser liposuction to pull out a little fat from the areas the first guy obviously missed and injected it into the deep spots. So the only scars are two smooth round scars near the bottom of my belly, and they are fading nicely. Time will tell.
Your tummy looks great...it's smooth out nicely. Put foam under your garment, that way you won't have creases in your skin. You're doing so well.
Thanks. I'm hanging on to the foam the surgeon gave me, the poor thing is more pitted than my stomach was after the first surgeon messed me up! Looking for new foam online today, since the medical supply shops around me don't seem to have a clue.
I got mine off Amazon. Another trick I saw on YouTube. A lady used a towel. She put a tshirt on then wrapped towel around her midsection and then put garment on.
Found it on Amazon, thanks! : ) I'll make my raggedy old foam last a few more days till the new one comes in. Or I might experiment with that towel thing....I love RealSelf - I'm learning so much from everyone else!
Perfect. I'm glad you found it.
How long do you have to wear the garment and is the process better or worse this time
Oh, it is SOOOOOO much better this time - I wasn't nearly as bruised as the first time, the scars from the canula are healing quickly, and I didn't feel bloated after the first day. This surgeon told me before the procedure that he usually asks people to wear the garment for up to six weeks. At my one week follow-up after the procedure, he told me I could just wear it for two weeks and change to shapewear, but I'm going to keep wearing it for the full six weeks because it's not too bad. I might wear it for three months, because several ladies have suggested that.
Thank you for the update . I'm a little sceptic about doing it again and it looking even more hideous
I don't blame you for hesitating. The first time, I made the mistake of going to a plastic surgeon who did not specialize in liposuction - I didn't know any better. This surgeon who did the revision does other procedures as well, but his specialty is "body sculpting." He seems a lot more knowledgeable than the first guy, and takes his time explaining everything to me. I hope you find a surgeon like that wherever you are.
Thanks for sharing your bad and good experience with me and others . It give me a little more confident that there is hope . Since I've had this lipo and been researching there is a lot of girls out there that are just like us . Thank you and I'm happy you feel better about yourself .
You look really good . I'm so happy for you . I'm still not sure what I'm going to do . When I first notices all the disfiguring on my stomach , I talked to my surgeon and he said he would charge me another 1000.00 to go back in with the vasor but not remove any fat . I'm not sure about it from what others have said , it made it look even worse . I don't understand how he could charge me more for the ugliness he left me with . Confused
I know, it is so frustrating that some of these surgeons are so unscrupulous. Charging you extra to fix a mess that he made seems so unfair! It seems like they should be accountable for their sloppy work, but in my case, I did sign paperwork before the procedure acknowledging the possibility that it would not turn out well - they know how to cover their behinds so they won't get sued! Since I was not going to pay the surgeon who messed me up another penny, the best recourse for me was to find a surgeon who specializes in body sculpting. He also used the Vaser to try to fix me, and so far so good. In the right hands maybe the results are good - I hope so. I'll keep posting updates every couple of weeks and hopefully it will help you and others decide about getting a revision or Vaser or whatever.
Thank you and please keep posting your results . I wish you nothing but the best results .
Your stomach looks really good...overall I agree with the Dr. that you don't have much body fat to work with, so what he has achieved is quite lovely! I had fat transfer done after breast implant removal and have nice breasts now. I'd seriously consider going to him to fix my botched tummy! Over time if you gain weight your breasts will get larger and your body proportion will stay the same. I think he did a fine job!
Thank you. I wouldn't mind gaining weight if it was ALL in my breasts, but I know that won't happen so I'm not going to make an effort to, although I've been very careful not to LOSE any weight after this procedure. I'm okay with the small breasts, I just hated that they were so weird and lumpy after the first surgeon. Did they botch your tummy, too, when you had the fat transfer? If so, depending on where you live, it might be worth checking out Dr. Jung. I agree, I think he did a fine job with what he had to work with. Thanks again.

One Week Post Op

No pics today, nothing much changed since the last picture I posted. The surgeon checked me out, told me I was doing great with minimal swelling and no infections, but again, it's the ol' "Wait and See" thing. Dr. Jung had originally told me that I would be in that compression garment for a minimum of two weeks, and that some patients required it up to six weeks, but he told me at my post-op that I could begin transitioning into spandex or something similar. Yes! That compression garment is no fun - it's literally got about 10 hook/eye fasteners up each side from mid-thigh to just below the breast bone, with a zipper over them. Takes about 5 minutes to wiggle out of that thing. Of course, it has an opening below so it's not necessary to remove it during the day, but, well, let's just say the hole is not quite big enough for its intended purpose, so I end up holding the garment open with my hands and sitting very awkwardly for potty breaks. Lol, TMI, sorry. Just so you know what to expect if you get one of these compression garments, too. Anyway, so far so good. No more follow ups for three months. I'll post pics when my body starts to change again in a week or so.

You look great. I'm part of a fat transfer to the breast Facebook group and there are a lot of women in your same boat. Post mastectomy who have beautiful breasts from fat only! Fingers crossed Your long term results look great!!!!
Thanks. :) I wish they would stay the way they look now, but I know it's from swelling so they will go down a bit. I'm hoping once all this settles down in six months I can convince Dr. Jung that I DO have fat legs (he insists I don't, ha ha) so he can suck some of that out and round the breasts out a little more.
Can I just say... You are extraordinary! My total vanity, unnecessary procedure didn't go well and I am less positive than you are. I wish I could share my fat with you.

Happy healing... I hope you end up with a good result. X
You are both lovely women. Blessings to you both. ❤️
Lol, I wish you could, too. I really wish they could have taken some fat from my husband's belly, then I'd have double D's! Thank you for the compliment and the good wishes.
You need post op lymphatic massages for those lumps to go away and also wear your garment for 3 months the least. Find a Colombian brand one. Hope it all goes well.
Thanks, I've got my first lymphatic massage scheduled for tomorrow! : ) I've also been massaging my own belly with a silicone roller every night. Ugh, wearing the garment that long sounds dreadful, but I will do what it takes to get this belly fixed! I wore the garment the full recommended time for my first procedure, the one that messed me up, and it didn't help, but that was just a bad lipo job. I'll check out Colombian ones today. Not sure what kind the surgeon gave me, it just has the name of his clinic printed on it, nothing else. Thank you again for your suggestions.
Look up the Marena garments.
Will do, thanks!
Wishing you all the best! Happy healing!
Thanks so much for your good thoughts. I looked at your review of your breast issues. OMG, you've been through a horrific experience! I hope things turn out better for you, too!
Ah thank you, I appreciate that. I know I can't live this way, it's disgusting, but I'm so afraid of ending up even worse off. I had no idea all the things that could go wrong... I don't seem to have the best luck with doctors and surgery- no matter how much research I seem to do! I know there is always a season to things, I just hope that next chapter around the corner is going to be better and make more sense than this one!
