I had worn glasses since I was a child and wanted to be able to see BEFORE my 30th birthday. I never thought I would be a candidate for Lasik because was vision was horrible. (I was a -6.75 with astigmatism in both eyes and my vision was progressively worsening)
I had finally built the courage to schedule a consultation 2 months prior to my 30th birthday. The consultation was seamless. I scheduled my procedure during my consultation for 2 days later. Joffe (at the time) met any advertised competitor's price. I found a groupon ad and presented it to the scheduler and she offered me the same deal.
I had my Lasik procedure completed on 09/07/13. I went in at 8:00 and was out by 8:30. The procedure took about 20 minutes (10 minutes each eye). On the way home, I had to wear some protective sunglasses and everything looked as if I had my eyes open under water. I went home and slept for about 2 hours and my vision was crystal clear when I woke up. I had a Rx eye drop that I had to put in for about a week and used re-wetting drops for about a month. At times, my eyes would get a little dry. I did experience halos (circles around headlights at night) for a little while. But, it didn't interfere with my ability to see. It was just a little distraction.
I am extremely pleased with my results and it's been almost 4 years! Lasik is the best investment I've made into myself. The thought of the procedure can be intimidating but everyone at Joffe made sure I was calm and the procedure and recovery were painless.
