They were very nice, very professional, and provided me with aftercare products. I don't think I was totally prepared for what to expect afterwards, but everyone is different, so I don't totally blame that on them.

Okay, so here is the real truth about this ...

Okay, so here is the real truth about this procedure. It isn't as easy as what I thought. At least if you have the level 3, or at 30%. The more aggressive, the tougher it is in all respects. The more aggressive the better the results though. It was NOT an easy thing to go through, that is for sure. The treatment itself was painful at the 30% level, but still tolerable. They did not have the cooling air treatment that I have read others have had and it would have been most appreciated! The drive home I turned all AC vents on high right on my face. Truly like a horrible sunburn. Like the feeling when you have a sunburn, then get into a hot bath. Ouch! The pain was terrible for about 3 hours, and icepacks help a lot during that time. Afterwards, and for about a week, it still felt like my face was radiating heat. LIke a bad sunburn. I used the creams religiously that were given to me to keep my face moist so the ablated areas could heal without scarring. AT about 10 days most of the scabs had fallen off, and I was left with a blazing red face, and a horrible case of acne!! NO amount of concealer would hide it, so I decided to stay in for a few more days. Didn't want to scare the general public. I had been put on prednisone to help with all the swelling I had, and also Doxycycline for the acne that appeared. I looked absolutely monstrous! At three weeks the redness started to subside, the acne was starting to subside a little, but I still thought I looked like I had more jowls than before. I had hoped this was due to residual swelling, and the Dr. answers said that it was probably what the problem was. Now at 26 days I think it is getting a bit better. I do think my fine lines are better than before. The acne has mostly subsided, and about 80% of the redness is gone. Thank goodness. I can now put on a little concealer and powder and look pretty good. My daughter yesterday said I am still really red, but my skin looked so smooth. A great compliment (the latter part at least!) I do think this will be worth it, but I won't kid you and tell you it wasn't a hard thing to go through. No pain no gain I guess. You just have to decide whether you have the time and the stomach to have a level 3 done. It is harder, but if you want more results with fewer treatments, then it is the way to go. But please don't think that this is a weekend inside treatment like some offices tell you. It Isn't!!! I will try to update you on this in a few more weeks, when hopefully I am able to see more results. According to the Docs, it gets better with time. Here's hoping!

I can just picture you driving home with your A/C cranked up towards your face — good idea!! I actually thoughts of that after my laser tattoo removal sessions, except it was impossible as my tattoo was on my back! What type of acne are you dealing with? Would you consider sharing some before and post-op photos with the community?

I don't really have any photos to share right now. My face is normally pretty clear, but I had a horrible breakout all over my face requiring antibiotics. It could have been caused by all the greasy creams you have to keep on your face the first couple of weeks. I'm just glad the ordeal is pretty much over! I think next time I would ask the P.A. to not do the Halo at such an aggressive level. Are you considering having it done?
Howe are your results now? Was it worth it?
