After high school most people believed the reason for having a gap is primarily because you don’t have the funds to fix it.
It didn’t really matter how successful you’ve became, people still assumed you don’t have the money.
My mother carries her gap with pride and I believed I could as well, but being labled poor is not an option.
So it’s time to fix what isn’t broken.

13 months later, and I’m almost done.
My appointment today went well, and my orthodontist recommends that I should start my band treatment.
Not very much pain, but it does take some getting use to. I pretty much eat what I want, but only in smaller portions, if it’s hard.

I wore adult braces for 2 years to close my gap and fix crowded teeth. It was worth it. Once they take them off, you'll have to wear your retainer full time except to eat and brush for about 3-6 months. Hang in there and enjoy the results.

l use to have a gap but it eventually closed up on it's own in my twenties. I miss it. I'm very sorry to hear about your experience with rude people commenting on your teeth. :(
- makes me feel sad for all the awesome "gappies", as "nechellej" called them.
