After years of having one problem after another with my teeth I had to do something. Both arches are in poor shape. So in January it's time for implant dentures. I have crowns on all upper and lower arches. Some in the back are completely gone. I have been chewing on the left side due to loose crowns. I've been eating mostly soft food for the last 6 months. I had to wait until I could get enough money saved up.

Thank you so much for coming and sharing with us here!  There are a lot of people in your situation, looking for information and finding very little.  I hope that everything goes perfectly for you!  Is this an all-on-4 type of procedure you are working toward?  So excited for you--only a month and change!

Oh, and do you know whether you're going to need bone grafting?

December 19, 2014
Yes, on the upper arch.

So you'll need bone grafting on the upper arch only--that's nice :).  Is it all-on-4 or 6 or...?

Goodluck to you. I know how you feel. I'm 51 years old and have been dealing with dental problems all my life. I had 3 teeth pulled in Oct. and have got a partial I hate it so bad. It's one problem after another with it. I've got 3 uppers that have got to be pulled to. I'm not happy with my dentist I called them 5 days ago about getting started on the other teeth and still not a call back. As much money as we spend on our teeth you would think they would call you back. I'm just lost right now as far as what to do. Can you give me some suggestions as far as finding someone that can do implants. I can't deal with another partial. Thanks

@agspann, where are you located?  I can try to see if we have any doctors in your area that have accounts here on RealSelf.  Otherwise, you generally ask your dentist for a referral, since they're not the ones who do the implants anyway.  An oral surgeon does that :).

Houston, Texas Dr Robert Seaberg is my Dentist and actually a part of the team that's doing my dentures. He and Oral surgeon Dr. Victor Manon will work toghter.

All in Four Dentures

It's finally done! All day procedure, all teeth on upper and lower arch removed. Dr. Victor Manon did my implant post and extractions. Dr. Robert Seaberg did my dentures. Very professional and dedicated. I was called later that night by my surgeon Dr Manon to check on swelling or any concern I may have. Follow up visit to Dr. Seaberg today. A few minor adjustments on my temporary dentures. I'm on soft food for the next two weeks. They will let bones to heal to the implant posts for better results. For the first time in years I feel confident about my smile.

Congratulations. Your new smile looks fantastic. I am getting ready to start the process myself. Please keep us posted on any issues that may come up. Hearing what others have gone through helps me prepare for what may be in store. How was your pain level the first and second day?
January 29, 2015
Due to pulling of the remaining teeth and all screws put in at the same time the pain is constant. On antibotics and pain meds seem to due the job. I've had a friend who has already done it. He was a lot of help on what to expect.
January 29, 2015
Did I read correctly that the cost of your procedure was $52,000 for both top and bottom? I have been quoted $45,000 for just the top, and I really think that is high, but it is so hard to get straight pricing answers online.
January 29, 2015
Yes, that was total for upper and lower.

I'm wondering whether you're able to close your teeth in a natural way at this point, or if the pain is too great.  You're showing your upper and lower teeth in the picture so we can see them, obviously, but I'm wondering how everything feels in a resting bite.

January 29, 2015
Yes, they close good so far, no problems besides the swelling.

Do not know where you live, but search for prosthodontists in your area. If you live in west us Dr golpa in vegas does only all on fours.I picked a prosthodontist in az that I love.I had all teeth extracted last tues and wed with 4 implants upper and lower with temp dentures. She said hopefully in 4 or 5 months I will be ready for the perm bridges. After the procedur I was given scripts for motrin, decadron, antibiotics, tulenol no 3,and special mouthwash.I am still swollen, but it is a lot better now.I only put teeth in when I go out,I am eating scrambled eggs smoothies and warm soup. I paid 40 k for upper and lower extractios, implants and bridges which will come later after implants are solid.
