First thing you should know is that I am an MD...

First thing you should know is that I am an MD myself. I spent several years talking to other doctors, friends, other plastic surgeons in town about finding a great facial plastic surgeon in Houston. I started way before I knew I would need anything because this takes time. I was extremely pleased with Dr. Lyos. I am thrilled with my result, less than one month after surgery. I have seen way too many women with bad brow lifts that make them look artificial and horrible, and as a physician myself, I can spot them a mile away. I am 58, and had 'hooded' droopy eyes, and drooped eyebrows-- no "brow bones" on which to put eyeshadow. Most people would have their eyes done, but my reasoning is that the drooping of the eyebrows is what contributed most to my 'tired eyes' look.
Several things impressed me. 1. There are muscles in the face that depress or lower the eyebrows. Dr. Lyos wanted to temporarily paralyze those with Botox 3 weeks before my surgery so those muscles would not pull down the brows after surgery during the healing period. Excellent attention to detail. 2. Most surgeons cut a small triangle of your scalp off on each side during the procedure. Dr. Lyos does not do that because it can lead to a nickel size bald spot in your scalp, and this often leads to that over tight surprised look. Again, excellent attention to detail. 3. Right after this surgery, everyone will have very overlifted brows the first few weeks after surgery, and then the brows relax into place. Because he did not overdo it, by wearing my glasses, bangs and some very bright new lipstick, no one seemed to notice when I returned to work a week later. No one said "you look different" or "did you change your hair" because my eyebrows were on top of my scalp! 4. Dr. Lyos is very meticulous, and spent about 2 hours doing my procedure. Again, because I am an MD, I know that some surgeons do this procedure spend much less time, because they are less careful. 5. His usual fees are extremely reasonable, many plastic surgeons charge much more. His fee was around $2900, the surgery center charged me $2000 and the anesthesiologist charged me $1000. I did not get the feeling he was money focused or trying to push, as some other plastic surgeons can be. He seemed very professional and dedicated to doing a good job.
My result: I look fresh, not tired. My eyes used to be my best feature, and now they are again! I do not look lifted or tight, I just look a lot better, younger but not in an obvious way which was exactly what I was looking for. As the years go by I may need to have other procedures and I will definitely go back to him, he is excellent.
