Hi! So I decided to get BA done because I want to look proportionate. I'm a gym rat and love lifting heavy which means I lost fat..in places I didn't want to (sorry Tatas). Some stats about myself:

Age: 29
Race: Asian
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 112lb
Bra size: 32B

I chose Dr. Vitenas because I knew several ppl who went to him and are highly satisfied with his work. He's all about the natural look and not [RS bleep] boobs kinda surgeon.

Honestly, I didn't research what size, implant, and profile I wanted until last night...I just knew I wanted a full C, but reading reviews here I know cup sizes don't mean much. I have a pretty muscular chest and my left rib cage protrudes a little more out than my right so I knew my ccs wouldn't be the same on each side.

I researched so much last night because my consultation is today. So I went and facilities nice, everyone's nice, and my coordinator Martina was super nice. I met Dr. Vitenas and he did some measurements and asked some questions in one room then we went to the next room where there were shelves of implants. So my first size is 286Cc For Left and 304cc for Right. Honestly I was surprised the cc were so small I was thinking 350 and up but putting it under the shirt my boobs looked big so I guess I was wrong... Well anything bigger than 32B is big to me..I'll post up pictures of how it looks, but the shirt they had me wear didn't look flattering to my figure nor the implants.

Curious I asked to try a size up and so I got 304cc on Left and 339cc on Right. Dr. Vitenas said I looked too heavy which I agreed on. It looked huge, but my concern is that if it's gonna be submuscular will I lose volume and it won't look as big? I asked Dr Vitenas if it would look smaller and he said no. Yet, I've read on the forums that it does..if anybody has any insight on this that would be great.

So he decided on Natrelle, round, moderate profile, inframammary, and cc size questionable for now. I can't take any aspirin, ibuprofen basically blood thinners for two weeks. The hardest part for me is not working out. So surgery will last an hour after that is recovery room for another hour then I can check out. He said I could walk same day of surgery, but not to get my heart rate up. Dr. Vitenas doesn't do post-op bras/wraps so the ladies will just hang free. He wants me to massage and move my arms up and down immediately POD #0. No workout for 6 weeks. No bras for 6 weeks. Low sodium diet post op to reduce fluid retention and swelling. I asked if a Foley catheter would be put in and he said no. Thank goodness. I asked if any fluids would be started and a no to that too. I'm a nurse so I didn't have many questions since I looked on his website and he has ebook for BA that covers most of what I wanted to ask or didn't know to ask.

After that I sat down with Martina and put my deposit down for my surgery August 8. Pre-op is two weeks before the surgery where I can try on the sizes again, pick up prescriptions, and make the remaining payment. I asked Martina for anesthesia if it's a CRNA, but she said no it's a actual doctor who does it.

So what I got from this is..
-I love the first sizer, but if it's submuscular will it look smaller?
-If so, then I rather go with the second sizer because it'll look smaller and I don't want to have boob greed later on.

I'm going to make some rice implants tonight and try on bras at different stores to see which one I'm leaning more towards.

Thanks,

S.

Hello! I know sizing can be SO confusing! I'm also petite and a yoga enthusiast, 5'2 105 pounds, and I just had my BA done a week ago. I ended up with 275cc as I told my AWESOME physician that I would like to fit in around a C cup and was most concerned with proportion. Not looking too big for my body type was also super important to me, as I don't want to look top heavy. I'm only 1 week post op, and I'm SO happy with the size he chose (I gave him an idea of what sizers I liked but left him the final option of course since he's the professional). I seem to always hear that people wish they went larger, but I honestly can't imagine being larger. I love the size he chose and feel like he picked the perfect size to create nice proportions. Long story short, go with a surgeon you trust! I spoke with 3 different surgeons before choosing Dr. Yamahata and he was a clear choice for me. Best of luck!! Excited to see your progress!! :) XO

Thanks for you insight! How was post op recovery for you though I know it's different from everyone work makes it so that I'm constantly on my feet lifting or moving something.

I was really nervous about recovery too. I actually have three little kids (1 1/2, 5, and 6) and a husband that works long hours and isn't home much. I was fortunate enough to have my parents help with my little ones for a week and I left their house post op day 8, completely able to lift my 1 1/2 year old into her car seat (carefully of course).

I felt that the recovery was actually much easier than I expected. After getting out of surgery, I was only on pain meds for the first 24 hours (especially the muscle relaxers, which the nurses told me would make everything much more comfortable) and was back up doing things pretty normally within 2-3 days (minus picking up my kids). I had no bruising or anything significant besides just some general swelling. The worst part of the recovery for me was sleeping on my back. Ugh! Still not enjoying that and apparently, it's a 3 month deal!

I would definitely recommend trying to give yourself a week off of work just to really give yourself some good time to recover... and even when you do go back, try to keep away from any heavy lifting or anything like that. I think actually being up and around helped me feel better and recover quicker. Being that you're already super healthy, I'm sure you'll have an equally awesome experience! :)

Hi bbsgo! Fellow nurse here
July 13, 2017
Oh my! I typed a lot more than "fellow nurse here" but it disappeared??? Anyway...I had BA many years ago but can answer your question...submuscular placement will make the implants look smaller in terms of projection than what you are seeing with the sizers inside your bra. The diameter will be about the same. Since your pectoralis musculature is much denser/thicker than someone who doesn't work out, the loss of projection will be more pronounced. Go with the larger implants. It will take longer for your implants to soften and drop because you are so muscular, but when they do, they will look incredible with your already awesome figure!!!

I thought that would be the case. I love to bench and just posted pictures of my boobs..Looking at them I have chesticles >_<
July 15, 2017
Yeah you are very muscular and it will take longer for them to relax but hey...you will have a built-in bra :) You are a petite girl but not petite in a "scrawny" kind of way. You are muscular with a booty so the larger ones will balance your figure but won't make you too top heavy/hang over the sides of your chest and take away from the athletic figure that you have (an additional 35cc will not make a significant difference). However, you will have a larger cup size for about a year before they settle to their final size...maybe longer with your physique. I see on RS where most patients regret not going larger after a year when they drop and seem to shrink. They want to go and have explantation and implantation of larger implants. So that's more surgery and more $ than the original procedure! I did that myself. Honestly you'll look great with either. Can't wait to see your post-op!

Thank you for your insight! I really appreciate the advice hehe. I'm a pretty shy person and don't like attracting attention to myself so hopefully the boobs will shrink to a decent size where I'll just look balanced which is my goal. No need to motorboat my fiancé to death or anything he actually wanted them smaller like 225 since he's a booty man lol.

My advice...don't go big. You will be sorry as you are so petite.

I emailed my coordinator Martina and told her my mind is leaning towards 304/339cc's. I asked her what my BWD is, but all she told me was that my circumference was 31.5. I don't think Dr. Vitenas measures BWD..he just popped that tape out and moved his hands so quick I couldn't catch it all lol.

I tried some bras on at Target, but I'm lost honestly in what to try in regards to get a ideal cup sizeof the future boobs. I made some ricers though and read that wearing a tight sports bra will be a better indicator of how boobs will look with clothes on.

Fellow Asian girl here. I think you should get the bigger size. Itll look great on your frame and you have the shoulders to pull off the look. Unless you're being warned against the bigger size because of the risk of capsular contracture?
July 16, 2017
I have broad shoulders D: the PS just said I would look top heavy, but to me how much of a difference does 18-30cc's make honestly? It's such a trivial amount including the fact that my muscles will compress the implants that I feel it won't make me look two balloons stuck to my chest lol.

Same here re: gym rat and similar build so... thanks for sharing! I'm scheduled for Aug 22. Excited for you and excited to see your results!

Ricers

I went to Target again for another round with my ricers this time just trying it on with a sports bra. Really loving the look and feel of this size. My pre-op is July 25, but the MA emailed me the Paperwork they would be going over in office. This helps me a lot so now I can start preparing myself for the Big day. I have a basket I'm putting the necessities in.

Couple of things I plan to do now is stop chest workouts or keep it to a minimum so I can have a faster recovery postop. My fiancé is a massage therapist so he's going to work on my chest more frequently since my muscles are already so tight in that area. Debating if I should do cardio to lose weight since I won't get to workout for 6 weeks.. I've actually been eating a low sodium diet for a month or so now even though it's not required before the surgery. I've cut back a lot on eating out like after three days of work I would spoil myself and say I deserve it, but now I sit in my corner with my greens and turkey wishing it was a juicy burger :.( plus I save money.
