I initially went to see a few different docs to name a few Dr. Bressler, Dr. Eiseman, Dr.Vitenas, Dr.Kridel, and last but not least Dr. Funk. I started this journey a few years ago but had a couple of road bumps along the way that delayed surgery called life. The top 3 were Dr. Kridel/$$$$$$ but too expensive. Dr. Bressler/ no complaints. And Dr. Funk. I can honestly say I'm so happy that I went with Dr. Funk. He was put on this earth to do rhinoplasty! He is an artist when it comes to the nose. Everything has come out perfect so far and I'm only 3 1/2 weeks post op. I've had a couple of bumps/ light hits by my 16 month old but nothing major. I'm hoping the final outcome stays good because I had a crooked nose and large bump which are both gone now. Everyone at the surgery center raves about Dr. Funk which definitely put me at ease since they see his outcomes frequently.

Thank you for sharing on RealSelf! How has your recovery been since your surgery? Any rough patches?

The recovery was something I lost thought about because I was so focused on finding the right doc to do the job. But recovery is a huge part of the journey. You have to be so careful with any and everything. Which means you feel like you want to lock yourself in a room and avoid contact for at least 6 weeks. My 1 1/2 yr old has bumped it a few times. The first bump was with her head at about 1 week post op, not too hard but any touch to your nose feels 10 times more than what it is. I freaked out and called the doctor crying. ive had about 4 or 5 bumps , hits with my own hand while brushing hair out of my face, ect. But I think it takes a lot to really make a difference. I would even freak out a few weeks ago riding in the car because my husband went over too many bumps. Lol. But The doctor did tell me that only time will tell, so fingers crossed everything turns out okay. I'm currently 5 1/2 weeks post op and everything seems to look ok. i still use the nasal spray to clear my nose @ least 3/4 times a day and tons of qtips until I go back for my next post op visit next week. I think I will be allowed to blow my nose after that visit. Thank god! This has definitely been a long journey but I think after its all said and done. It will be worth it. Oh and one other thing I didn't expect after surgery was to get blisters on my throat for the tube they put down my throat during surgery. I think it caused some abrasions when it was inserted which caused blisters which I think was worse pain than my nose , not to mention I couldn't really eat for a couple of weeks post op due to that. I lost about 8 lbs which I guess was a good thing. Lol

Wondering how long swelling lasted for you? How long until you started seeing the results?
