1 year post op A Cup to DD Silicone 450cc Full-Profile Breast Augmentation

I couldn't be happier! I still wear a bra to sleep every single night. I went to Colorado at 10 months post op, high altitude and I could feel swishing and gurgling noises. From what I researched, fluid fills in the pocket at high altitude but it's nothing to be concerned about. It was annoying, but went away completely when I got back to Houston. My boobs are still perky and look the same as they did about 6 months post op. Thanks to Dr. Feldman for AMAZING results!! He's the best.

I'm tall, 5'11, pretty skinny, and have always had an A/AA cup, but wore VS bombshell bras every day so it looked like a had a large B/C cup in shirts. Without a bra, I had no cleavage, no boobs. I wanted to get a boob job for years but wanted to wait until I was old enough for silicone. Dr. Feldman in Sugarland was running a special deal, so I went in for a consultation end of December and got my surgery January 12th, a Thursday. I paid all cash for the special. His staff is amazing, extremely welcoming and informative. I was so nervous about taking before pictures and had so many questions about the procedure. Dr. Feldman took my measurements and answered all my questions about the surgery, about after, everything. He let me know my imperfections, my nipples pointed the slightest bit outward, and my shoulders and hips were actually uneven so he had to account for that. I was deciding between 450cc and 485cc full profile silicone implants, under the muscle, incision under my boobs. The high profile was too fake looking for me and the moderate profile wouldn't give me enough fullness. The full profile is in between and most popular. I was aiming for a D cup, but Dr. Feldman told me I would probably end up with a DD. He told me to not worry about how many cc's I was getting or size and to focus on the LOOK of the implants. The LOOK I wanted. I can't stress that enough! Trying on the 485cc I thought it was too big but seeing the pictures with a shirt on top of the implants they looked almost identical to the 450cc.
I felt so comfortable around him and trusted him and his staff that I scheduled my surgery not even two weeks later. Jeannette saw me for pre-op, went over all instructions, what prescriptions I would need to get, the aftercare, how to sleep, etc. I emailed her with so many questions and she always answered right away! The day of my surgery I was so nervous, mainly about the IV before and not the actual surgery. Dr. Feldman has a surgery suite in his office so no hospital trip, which I really liked. The nurse setting up my IV was so sweet (usually works with babies at the hospital), I got a small prick of lidocaine in my hand first then the IV, she missed my vein the first time but I barely even felt it, so the anesthesiologist who was also extremely nice and informative, ended up putting in my IV and gave me some Versed to calm down. I was really nervous about having to go back into the surgery suite and seeing the operation room, etc. but it wasn't bad at all after talking to the nurses and some Versed haha. Dr. Feldman marked me up and asked me if choosing between the 450cc and 485cc would I rather go bigger or smaller? I said smaller because I liked the look of the 450cc anyways. I was walked back to the surgery suite, got this warm blanket that blows warm air and a mask to breathe in and then just remember waking up in recovery. By the time I woke up, they already gave me some of my Vicodin and Valium (you bring your prescriptions to surgery). They prescribe Vicodin for pain, Valium for tightness and to help sleep or anxiety, nausea medication which also helps you sleep actually, Cellebrex which is for swelling but also for pain it's not a narcotic, and an antibiotic that you have to start taking before the surgery. I thought it was a lot of pills but they ALL do their job and it's important to stick to what Jeannette tells you to take and when to take them.
He put in the 450cc, he didn't even try to go bigger for the 485cc because he said they would've been to big and busted my sternum or something like that. After surgery I don't really remember the drive back home, just bits and pieces. I had my mom helping me for about 4 days, you NEED someone to be your caretaker because you will not be able to drive, make food, shower, take off clothes, pull or push or grab anything basically for at least 48 hours. I had my post op the next day after surgery because Dr. Feldman took time off the following week (usually it's about four days later). He said everything looks great (I looked a total mess haha) and that I shouldn't shower for a couple days and be extremely cautious until my two week post-op. They were sitting REALLY high on my chest and were really swollen so don't think your boobs will end up looking like that because they need weeks to heal.
I went back to work the following Wednesday I believe. I work an office/desk job so I didn't have to lift anything but had to be cautious driving (drive like a grandma so you don't move your arms a lot), had to wear the compression bra they gave me, they give you two actually. My mom still helped me showering/washing my back, etc the first week. I had major breakouts on my back and on my chest, either a reaction from the scrub from surgery? or the combination of pills I was taking but it all went away after a couple of weeks.
As fair as pain goes, yes expect pain.. but I also had NO breast tissue to begin with so my skin and muscles had to stretch a lot. I would do it over again no doubt because the results are so worth it. Mainly your chest is really really tight so try not to move much the first two weeks and take your meds. At my two week post-op, my stitches came out, she said my scars look great, and she told me how to find bras that fit, etc. Dr. Feldman took my after pictures at this appointment and you could really tell how centered my nipples were and how awesome everything turned out. He said they looked amazing and he could tell I followed instructions not to overdue it and all my stitches were intact! There's a couple layers of stitches under your skin and he can definitely tell if you follow your after care instructions or not.. so follow his instructions and don't risk messing up beautiful results. Trust me.
The worst part was having overly sensitive nipples after a few days OMG. At first I felt nothing, then had crazy sensitivity for a couple weeks maybe, it was horrible but now I'm pretty much back to normal! Dr. Feldman said crazy sensitive was good because my nerves were just angry and started reconnecting. Also having to sleep on your back for weeks sucked at first but you have to, it'll be easy once you're used to it. I still sleep on my back now anyways. And wearing the compression/sports bra for two weeks but that's not a big deal, just wear loose shirts that are easy to take on and off. I still wear it at night or to work out because it's good quality.
What NO ONE tells you, is that your boobs will not "push up" the way natural breast tissue does. Natural girls can stuff D boobs in a C cup to really push them up and together. You can't do that with implants. If the bra is too small, your boob will literally just pop out so you have to get the right bra to fit the implant. Also depending on how much cleavage you want, decide that when you choose between high/full/moderate profile, you won't get a lot of extra cleavage from a bra when you have implants. They sit where they sit and that's that. So choose wisely.
Mine dropped a lot, which I'm okay with and was expected but I wouldn't have minded them to stay a little higher. At first I had 60% tissue above my nipple and 40% below and once they drop you have 50/50 above and below the nipple. I can easily hide them, at work etc, no one even noticed. If I want to show them off, I definitely can in a bikini, bodysuit, wherever. Obviously the biggest difference is when I'm naked seeing myself in the mirror. I haven't found a good strapless bra yet but my FAVORITE BRAS are from Aerie. I wear a 32DDD, I fit in a DD but DDD fits better. The sunny push up is the best and most comfortable. Wear a VS front close sports bra to work out or at night. Always wear a bra at night, you don't want saggy boobs in a few years so support them!! I do have regular VS bras, they fit, but they're not as comfy. I'm also a 32DDD there. No one believes me when I say my size because they honestly don't look huge and they look proportionate to my body. They look like a D cup I would think.
I'm six months post-op and I don't even remember what it's like to have small boobs. Best decision I ever made. I work out 3-4 days a week. I can't do pull ups yet and a lot of chest/upper body exercises feel weird, they don't hurt but it feels like I'm really stretching my chest muscles and I just avoid anything that feels uncomfortable. The nurse who took out my stitches said she couldn't do a full push up for a year. So take it slow with working out. I also go in the tanning bed sometimes and you can't get sun on your scars, they'll darken so fast. I cover the scars with band aids and a dark towel over top whenever I do tan in a bed.
Keep up with the massages EVERY day. I always massage mine after the shower or squeeze them together and up to keep the pocket open throughout the day and prevent capsular contracture. My biggest fear. But if you take care of them and listen to your doctor and his advice, you'll be fine and be able to prevent any complications.
Super long review I know.. but I wanted to include everything that I personally wanted to know before getting a breast augmentation so hopefully this helps someone. I highly highly recommend Dr. Feldman and his staff. He only does breast augmentations so he is an expert and extremely knowledgeable. My boobs were my biggest insecurity before.. they held me back from so much and now I feel confident and feminine and couldn't be happier with my decision.
