WORTH IT
I has the biggest I had ever been I smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, I was short of breath after taking a shower and trying to dry myself off. I hit an all time low and decided I was way to unhealthy to enter my 30s. I decided to have gastric by pass at TLC surgery center in Houston. I was 250lb on Nov 26 2012 when I went in for surgery the first 4 months were the hardest for recovery, its been 2 years and im now 140 I went from 3x/sz 24 to medium /sz9. I would do it all over again in a heart beat

Good for you! Same here, I had it 12/12/14 in Houston. Went from 236 to 119, size 4. Love it! I just need to have a lot of loose skin removed, hopefully this year.

I originally planned to have a tummy tuck this summer but I'm going to have the bbl procedure first then TT at end of year. I held most of my weight in the center of my body so I don't have much skin problems on my legs or arms. I do see a lot of people that have total body lifts. it's crazy how I used to be subconscious about my weight and now that resolved I'm subconscious about my skin. Funny how surgery can't fixed our insecurity.lol. congrats on your success

Iam new here, ,and some of the reviews have me rethinking my steps to getting gastric bypass. There were so so many negative reviews, people staying sick, extra surgeries, some really scary things. Does anyone have any good success stories???? Iam really scared now, ,, thanks to all

I have been very fortunate. Had surgery 12/12/14. First month pretty tricky as you heal; have to be very careful what you eat. I stayed with mostly protein drinks, soft foods. I can now eat anything, including sugar in moderation . I'm thrilled with surgery; went from size 2x to size 4. My labs have been great so far. I take my vitamins religously. I think that is extremely important. I had sugery done lap so recovery was not bad.

I worried about the same things right before I had surgery. That is one of the reasons I chose the bypass. my reasoning being that bypass has more of a history than the sleeve so I figured if I did run into problems their would be doctors with more experience treating bypass related complications since it's been around longer. Fortunately I have not had any compilations at thusband far. I do have lab work every 6 months to make sure I'm don't have any deficiencies. The first 3 months postoperative are the hardest physically and mentally. Most of my success I do believe if from being a compliant patient. I did everything my doc told me to do and even now I still take my vitamins faithfully. Best of luck to you.

My husband and I had to have a huge talk before surgery. He did not say at first but about a year after he confessed that before surgery he was scared that I would lose a lot of weight and would leave him. We've been together since I was fifteen. that is clearly not the case and I've never done anything to make him feel insecure but the thought of it scared him and that's not something he's used to feeling. So during this process you will need to comfort your spouse and the changes they face as a result of your surgery

You have lost that much weight in just a little over 3 months? Having such rapid weight loss have you experienced hair loss?

I lost most my weight in 9 months I did have some hair loss post from stress of the surgery but no else noticed it but me it stopped about the 5 month mark and has thicken back up at about a year

I also had some hair loss because I also had a facelift in 8/14. I take liquid biotin and collegen and my hair has stopped falling out and is starting to thicken again. That's why I'm going to wait until at least the fall to do the surgery to remove the loose skin. But, I will say, to have lost this weight, I would wear a wig if I had to.
