The experience with the Dr. was great, but a year and a later (after the warranty expired) I started getting holes in my snap on smile. I called their office and I asked how to repair the holes. The told me they could not be repaired and my only recourse is to buy another - For $1875.

I am sorry you had this experience but the appliance is a temporary cosmetic option and will wear over time depending on how often the patient wears it....also it the patient is a grinder then it will not last as long...most last 3-5 years..The appliance can be made with or without occlusal holes but I prefer to make them without holes....so it is possible to wear holes on the surface but it will not affect the appliance...Please go to the website www.snaponsmile.com and there are both pics of Snap-on Smile with and without holes....I am sorry we could not resolve your issue....I am the leading provider of Snap-On
Smile in the world and teach dentists throughout the US about this appliance so know the product well...Sorry again, you had this issue....

Snap-on Smile is a temporary appliance that lasts between 3-5 years depending on how often it is worn . The appliance can actually be made with holes to maintain the original bite but I prefer to make mine without holes due to being easier to clean ..we tell all of Our patients that as you wear it , it will get holes in the center of each tooth due to the bite… The material does wear down… There is no need to get a new one if this happens as many are made with holes in them so I am sorry you had this experience. I am the number one provider of Snap-on Smile in the US and holes can occur doing no harm to the appliance and just remember...it is a temporary solution but a good one !
