My stomach has always been a problem area for me, despite being quite active, but after having my three kids the weight refused to go. There really wasn't a question about who my surgeon was going to be as Dr. Peters has an amazing reputation as well as the education and certification to back it up. His office and staff are so welcoming, which is quite nice for someone who is anxious. This is an ELECTIVE procedure after all. Despite being Dr. Peters first Bodytite case, all of my questions were answered and then some. It was as if he had performed this procedure multiple times before. The morning of the procedure I, surprisingly, wasn't nervous. Once I arrived at the office, I undressed and slipped into one of the robes provided by the office. Dr. Peters then came in and spoke to me about what was going to happen for my procedure. He asked if I had any questions and the proceeded to mark the areas of treatment on my abdomen. Once that was finished, Dr. Peters numbed the area so that he could begin the RF treatment. Candice, Dr. Peters nurse has superb attention to detail and helped ensure that I was comfortable the entire time. For me, the procedure was a breeze, as all I wanted to do was sleep the entire time. After Dr. Peters finished my abdomen, Candice cleaned me up, and helped me into my compression garment and clothes before helping me to my mother's vehicle. I slept the rest of the day, as I am sensitive to Valium and pain medicine. The next day I was sore but already able to see a difference in my size. I had minimal bruising and swelling, and as quickly as the swelling came it went away. My procedure was done on a Monday and I was back at work on Thursday. I would have returned back on Wednesday, but the office was closed because of a tropical storm. Recovering was quick and easy in my opinion. I was sore but it didn't keep me from doing much. About 6 weeks post op, I noticed a few hard areas around my belly button. I asked Dr. Peters about it and he assured me that it was a normal part of the healing process and to massage the area to get it to go away. It was slow going just as he said it would be, but they did go away after continuously massaging the areas. I am almost 5 months out from my procedure and am thrilled with my results! What's even better, is that the RF used in the Bodytite procedure continues to tighten over the course of a year so it will only get better! I would recommend this procedure and Dr. Peters to anyone looking to do something for themselves!
