Hello girls I am 65 years young from Topsfield , Massachusetts had 30 year old implants explanted on September 9 2016.
What a wonderful thing i did for myself to get rid of these awful implants. What was i thinking 30 years ago. I guess it was the thing to do back then ,thought was way to flat. However I was scared nervous had anxiety the whole nine yards but threw all that I didn't have second thoughts I did it. Well let me tell you its been 4 days now an I feel great. no pain just had to be careful how I slept. Have to sleep on my back and at an incline. if you don't have a recliner prop up plenty of pillows don't lay flat. I'm still in recovery and in a surgical bra. But i can see my new real breast their little soar but no real pain at all. Went threw surgery with a breeze. Hopefully the drains will be coming out on Thursday really no big deal it will be nice to be drain free their just annoying. Cant wait to buy new bras I'm more excited about that than anything else.
If you ever decide to explant make sure you take care of yourself during your recovery listen to the doctor. relax don't do any pushing pulling reaching or lifting get plenty of rest any your recovery will be quicker. Take advantage an pamper yourself it will be worth it.
Ill keep you girls informed on my recovery. LOL Carol

Good morning daylilly
Happy to hear from you and getting your body back to the real self again. I know how nerves we can get with a situation like this I will say I was frightened. I went to see my doctor in May 10 2016 didn't have surgery till September 9 2016. Long time to wait. All I thought about all summer long tried to make the best of my summer an the closer it got the more nervous I was. You'll probably go threw the same thing you have 3 months more to go. But I will say I worried so much for nothing. If you have confidents in your doctor he or she will do a good job. Ive heard so many woman in the same situation nervous as hell and they came out just fine. I was out of my mind the closer it got my poor husband was walking on pins an needles around me poor guy. After I woke up in recovery my husband said honey its over your all done. I said REALLY an fell back to sleep. I felt no pain at all. however she did do a en block in each breast that will keep the pain away for a long time you'll feel nothing. And the after care is not bad at all. If you have a recliner sleep in it you don't want to sleep on your side don't want your boobies to heal lopsided especially where you've had so many problems with your implants sleep on your back I found for me I healed better. Its only been a week today my stitches are out drains are out Im back to sleeping in bed on my side no problem . however i did not have to have lift or any reconstruction done i was very lucky and i hope you will be as lucky as me. Like most of us the recoup is fast you'll be back to work in no time. I do have one more appointment with her next Thursday for another follow up. Don't do like i did an think about it everyday. You will be fine I'm here for you anytime. LOL

Thanks for the encouragement! My PS said I will get local anesthesia only and didn't even offer sedation - I did request Valium. Some women with simple explant say they didn't need narcotics, just ibuprofen. He said it will be very simple and quick, no drains, no lift needed. I did not have drains for my full capsulectomy and implant exchange 4 years ago and healed up fine. I watched a simple explant on Youtube and it was amazingly fast. Basically just incision and they popped out. I'm not having capsulectomy again because the cc I have now is not that bad, he said Grade 1 -2 and I am thankfully, not sick from my implants. Upside to having it done in December is I can hide post-op in bulky sweaters and because I can't lift weights for a month, no one will see my arms turn flabby! I'm having foot surgery in November so it's going to be one fun holiday season!
Best wishes to you for perfect recovery!

I'm 60 years old and have had saline under the muscle since 1994. They were replacements for the silicone overs that were put in in 1980. My explant is scheduled for November 8th. I'm so ready!! I've wanted them out for years. Thanks for sharing your story. Happy healing!!

Welcome to the care for ourselves rather then having bigger boobies society...yes I like you had done it for a self esteem reason 24 years ago,not too much difference to your story,I had my explant on the14th sept and I 100% know in my heart that I have made the right decision.
I still have bandages on and yes they are tight but they seem to be unraveling a little,I go to my Dr tomorrow for checkup not sure if the stitches will come out then, but I will get to see my boobies properly,I have had a little sneaky peek and am so happy to like you to have done it...what were we thinking...?

You look wonderful congratulations for making a wonderful decision for yourself, I will post some pics tomorrow when the bandages come off as they are rather messy at the moment.
Good luck lovely lady and look forward to read more of your journey.

Hi kazrella, No I don't have pictures Im not savey enough on the computer to do so.If I known how i would have.
Went to my doctor today to get my drains an stitches out. OMG what a relief. The drains were getting very annoying felt so good to get them out just felt a little pull for one second. Then came out the stitches just a little pinch before i new it I was clear of everything. My boobs are so soft and they look great. It was like the weight of the world had lifted off my body. And i will say I physically i even feel better. No more shoulder pain, leg cramps had it for years now there gone. Also had a lot of hair loss we'll see how that turns out over time. I even tried my old bras on and you know they still fit I loss no breast tissue at all. I was a C cup but they did fit tight with the implants but now they fit more comfortable. However I am going to by some new bras this coming weekend. My new boobies deserve new ones might go down to a B cup which is fine. So good to feel natural. Doctor just put sterry strips on my incision for 4 days I can peel them off. Little gause pad on the drain holes can take them off by tomorrow. Other than that I feel so free. Oh I also tried some of my tops on and they look so good I;m not bulging out of them everything is just so comfortable. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.
Im so happy to hear you did the same what till you see the results you are going to be so happy you did this for yourself. And your also going to fine your clothes are going to fit so much better. I have one more doctor appointment next Thursday the 22nd to check to make sure how everything is. Ill let you know how that went. Please let me know how your doing love to hear from you an your wonderful recovery. Take good care of yourself everyday it will get better an better LOL

Hi Miaholly,
Thanks for the update, how wonderful it is hey I totally now understand how you feel, free and our real selves again,I got my bandages off today I only saw the nurse she gave me a lovely little open front bra,and I fitted it and went out to lunch in my dress and didn't feel much different only lighter ,I am sure you know exactly what I mean,so glad you are going shopping I might go and get some nice bras too,I may wait till they fluff up a bit as my boobies are concaved at the moment.

Why did we ever do it to ourselves
Mia honestly the feeling of lightness is so wonderful,I like you also feel much better instantly so I am looking forward to the next few months and years for improvement,my ears pooped yesterday morning and I felt an instant relief as my head jaw neck an glands were always congested,I have huge swelling under my arm that hurt and ran down my lymph glands that are almost gone, can't believe, nurse said Dr said the saline implant were deflated so they must have been leaking.
Omg...who would have known....I have ringing in my head still and am hoping and praying that this may subside to.
I won't get rid of the lymphoma but the systems may subside a bit,..

Good luck to you sweetie and all the best for next Thursday,I will get my stitches out next wed.

I didn't have drains so I suppose that was good.

I will be posting some pics I just took on my profile soon, let me know if your look like mine....I'll show you mine if you show me yours hahaha I know you can't maybe you could get a friend to do it for you..much blessings

Good morning karzella.
Im so glad you feel good isn't it amazing. I took my first real shower this morning and washed my hair WOW what a wonderful feeling to be normal again. I even slept in my bed with lots of pillows and my cozy comforter slept so good. My boobies are little flat on the top but the will puff up like you said. I didn't have to have a lift or anything she said they came out all with the capsule together no leakage at all she did make sure i was all cleaned out. an yes i had drains. I guess some doctors do some don't all depends on the situation you have. Im so glad your doing well thats so good to hear. I will say I did weigh myself the day of surgery I was 130 now I'm 127 that could have been all nerves but those implants do weigh you down they were heavy. and your right i do feel much lighter and my arms near my pits are not rubbing anymore. so free.
Hope to hear from you after your next appointment. Mine is next Thursday Ill be in tough. Lots of love to you

Thank you MiaHolly for sharing your experience, how fortunate you were that the capsule came out too, mine didn't and Dr wrote they were not desired and left them in so I am a little disappointed to say the least and I stressed to him to take them out as I didn't want any thing in there that may cause problems as I have enough with lymphoma, just hoping and praying they will not cause any issues,,,,I know some Dr's take them out and some don't and have got comments from Dr's and off Internet of different comments so I'm hoping the ones that said they didn't need to come out unless there was an issue with them,I will be seeing my local Dr soon and will see what he thinks..good luck for Thursday sweetie...lots of healing love xoxo

Sorry that was capsule not diseased...
September 15, 2016
I am so glad you and so many others shared your experience. I am 60 years old and decided to explant my 31 years old silicone implants. In my case both have capsules, and PS suspect one may be ruptured but silicone contain within the capsule. Surgery is schedule for December 6. I must admit I am a little scared of the result since I'm not getting a lift, but now that the decision was made I wish it was tomorrow. Like you now I am thinking of my health. I look forward to feeling natural and light. No more hardness and heavy tightness in my chest. I'm hoping I may be able to breath easier.

Please keep us informed on your recovery. Best wishes.
