Ive had nasal breathing problems all my life. In additional to not breathing properly, my nasal tip always felt unsteady or "shifty" which was very painful and uncomfortable. I decided to get a septoplasty with ear cartilage graft to nasal tip for support through Dr. Schlesinger, and i could not be happier.

Dr. Schlesinger is by far one of the most talented, genuine, and down to earth docs Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting. Him and his staff are simply put, amazing. Not only does he provide exceptional care but also performs exceptional work. For me personally, the recovery process is the one thing I was most nervous about initially. Dr. S provides such attentive care post op, including multiple follow up apts to make sure everything is healing appropriately as well as readily taking calls if any questions arise, that the recovery process has been so smooth. Im only 1 week postop from my septorhinoplasty procedure and I experienced zero bruising and very minimal swelling. As expected there is still slight residual congestion but as the internal tissues heal breathing should streadily improve. Its already night and day compared to how i felt before and i am so appreciative and greatful to Dr. S. If you chose Dr. Schlesinger as your surgeon, you know your in great hands

Thanks for starting a review, I look forward to hearing more about your journey. What has been the most difficult part of your recovery so far?

Hi Eva, i apologize for the late response! I am about 5 weeks postop and i would have to say the most difficult part of the recovery thus far is off and on swelling both internally and externally. I had taped my nose per my surgeons instructions for several weeks, now off the tape (letting nose heal naturally) i do have fluctuations in swelling, as expected more in the morning and after any exertional activity. I tried to go for a light jog recently and my nose started throbbing and got swollen so Ive limited my exercises to just walks and continue sleeping with my head elevated at night. My collumella/tip, where my graft was inserted, is still slightly tender and hard, so im being very carefully not to have any accidental injuries to that area. Externally the tip region is less defined than from cast removal 2/2 to swelling but should improve overtime. As for internally, my nasal lining is still healing and some days my breathing is great and other days i get recongested and "inflammed" so ive been occasionally using my netipot to flush out the crust buildup. I think also for me personally i also have to try to "retrain" my nose to breathe now that i do have an adequate airway since its been so many years that i have not been able to. Otherwise, aside from the swelling, ive been doing good. Been going to my check up apts now every month and looking forward to being fully recovered . Ill post pics at a later time. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Nice to hear from you, glad to hear that overall things are going well for you. The netipot is a great idea, great tip! If you haven't checked in here yet, you should stop by and say hello and share your post-op tips too.  I'll keep an eye out for your updates. :)
