My story: 40 year old mother who just had tummy tuck and breast augmentation
ORIGINAL POST
I have come along way! I started my journey back...
WORTH IT$28,000
I have come along way! I started my journey back in 2011 with a starting weight of 205! My first year I lost 40 pounds and my second year I lost 30 pounds! I have hypothyroidism and chose to use it as an excuse for 15 years! Finally between a doctor and people constantly asking me if I was pregnant...I decided to do something about it! I battled with borderline diabetes and depression too...I started with just working out and then started to change my eating habits! I stuck to a strict 1200 calorie diet and was exercising daily! I have maintained this weight loss now for almost 4 years! I continue to eat right and exercise daily! The reason I am choosing to have this plastic surgery is because no matter what I do my breasts will not recover and neither will my torn stomach muscles and loose skin on my stomach! Also with age some things just won't change! With my breast Augmentation I will be able to wear those cute little sun dresses with no bra and be comfortable! With the abdominalplasty with muscle repair I will be able to sport around in a two piece suit and look good doing it! Living in Hawaii is always swim suit season ????. I know with this surgery it will give me back my confidence and will continue to keep me on track for the rest of my life! I will not stop eating right and I will not stop staying active! This is a lifestyle you have to choose and you have to choose to stay on track!
I started this new Journey on June 10th 2017 with a consult to Dr. Schlesinger's office! First you talk to his consultant and she asks questions about what medications you take and what exactly your looking for! After talking to her I went into Dr. Schlesingers office and after talking with him this opened my eyes even more to the possibility of having my pre-pregnancy body back! He talked about my options and the procedures and told me exactly what I needed to hear ! It was all eye opening and exciting to hear! They take pictures of your body and they take measurements of everything that will be worked on! Then for the breast augmentation they have you try different size implants in a sports bra to see what size your going for! He talks to you about the procedures and shows pictures of what will be done! He talks to you about problems that can arise and he talks about your recovery time. After talking to the doctor you then go and talk to the consultant again to get your prices for surgery! I have to say this is the most shocking part because in your mind and what you research is not at all the complete truth! With everything I am having done my cost is about 28,000! My breast augmentation with periareolar release and gummy bear implants are around 11,500! Then my abdominalplasty with muscle correction and lipo of hips is 16,000! Also you have to pay for anesthesia which is seperate and is about 275 and hour and you pay them seperate! The surgery is to be paid in full prior too surgery! I thought I was gonna stroke out and it made me a little more nervous and not as excited anymore! We left that day and talked about it and the more I thought about it the money factor was becoming the issue! So my hubby and I talked and we decided if I could get approved for the loan then I would do it! So I got appoved and called them back the same day and scheduled my surgery date!
Yesterday June 17th 2017 I had my pre-op appt. I went in and spoke to the nurse and she went over all paperwork and I signed all needed paperwork prior to surgery! She went over all the things that could go wrong and all the things to do after surgery! They gave me all my prescriptions and gave me a list of things to do before surgery! They took vials of blood, weight check which I weighed in at 133.4 pounds! They did a blood pressure and oxygen check and an EKG! After talking to her I went back in and talked Dr. Schlesinger one more time! He went over everything again and made sure I understood exactly what was being done! I am still nervous about everything but there is no turning back now! I start my Iron tablets today! The real is beginning to feel real?
Today June 18th 2017 I started my Vitamin K tablets along with some more Iron and will continue until my Surgery date which is June 28th 2017!

Surgery happened on June 28th, 2017
Was pretty out of it the first 24 hours! Anesthesia made me pretty sleepy! They kept me at the hospital over night and I have drain tubes and they emptied those every 2 hours and then sprayed me with DMSO EVERY 2 hours too! I am very sore and it's really hard to move or walk so I am taking pain medication every 4 hours!
