It's been 16 months since my surgery. I'm concerned because my scars are still really red, raised, and uncomfortable. I still can't wear an unwire bra because the pressure on the scars is uncomfortable. Is this normal scarring and what can I do to improve it? My surgeon offered me 3 free laser sessions late last year for the scars, which was so generous and appreciated. It was extremely painful though, and my scars are still really visible. They show through swimsuits and it's hard to find bras and swimsuits that conceal the scars. I can't enjoy my new boobs because the scars are so bad! What do I do?! I feel like they should look better by now.

You have keloid scaring. The can be injected with a steroid to flatten them out. They look red and sore. The steroid injections will also help. Good luck.

Ouch that looks uncomfortable. It could be a keloid or it might be a hypertrophic scar (both are overgrowth of scar tissue but there's some difference between the two). Check this link: http://www.realself.com/question/what-best-keloid-treatment. If your PS won't help you resolve this you should see another doctor, perhaps a dermatologist. In the meantime try to avoid anything that irritates them more(no underwires or tight bands-stick with longlines or stretchy sports bras!) Good luck :)

There are websites explaining keloid scarring. Might help; http://www.medicinenet.com/keloid/article.htm#what_is_a_keloid Good luck. Your breast still look great shape.

What exactly have you tried using for scar treatment?

What worked best for me was using Bio Oil, Palmer's oil and firm circular massage 2 to 3 times a day for months.  It really helped flatten and fade the scars.  Organic Coconut oil is also really good.

if creams, shots and everything else doesn't work. you can also think about your scars redone. it's a PS procedure, you get recut open and down back together. there is a chance that they can fix everything. possibly make an appointment for a different PS and ask if there's anything they can do
