I finally got my breast lift after waiting 20...

I finally got my breast lift after waiting 20 years! I just really wanted my boobs and tummy to more closely match the rest of my body. I didn't want implants and when I found out there was an experienced doctor on our tiny tropical island that did fat transfer I was so excited! In fact, my tummy wasn't a big concern but since he needed a donor site I thought it would be nice to get rid of my pouch! Whoever thought this up is a genius. I went in as a 36C and came out a 36E...but that's temporary. At least 30% of the fat transfered dies and I'm still swollen but in the end I should be a very full C cup or possibly D. I had more mild ptosis and a lot of deflation from 3 babies/breastfeeding. Kids, they're worth it but they take a toll. I had a periareolar lift. I got to avoid the vertical scar and they're pretty perky which is really what I wanted. The volume wasn't a big concern.

I wasn't prepared for how sore I would be from all the liposuction. I had my belly, flanks and a little hips worked on. I was on percocet for 10 days! But that's just me. What's really going to be difficult is wearing a compression garment for 6 weeks! It's so uncomfortable but I've come this far so I got to go all the way. My breast are very sensitive. I can't seem to tolerate much pressure so most of the time I wear a stretchy cami but no bra. I don't want to kill the fat grafts! I'll know how much will remain after about one month. My nipples are very sensitive too. I read it's from the stretching of the areolae during surgery. So I wear gauze pads over them so they don't rub against my shirt. Also, something else that's really helpful if you get your areolae repositioned is to use paper tape around the incisions for a few months. It acts as a soft splint and will help prevent or correct any puckering on the skin. I was worried when I noticed some puckering but it's normal during the healing process. So the tape and or gel pads and even massage helps to smooth it all out.

Super excited about my results but it's also hard to wait to see what they will be really be like. It's going to take a good 3-6 months for healing to happen. Well, I did it on November 19th! I really want to wear a bikini. I mean, I live in Hawaii. But what I love about it here is that no one cares what they look like. They let it all hang out and I think that's awesome! For me, I'm too self conscious but hopefully now I won't be as much. I get to go bikini shopping soon!

I'll post more pics in a few months when my tummy isn't swollen.

Thank you for sharing your story with us on RealSelf along with all the helpful details too! It sounds like you really did your research and have realistic expectations for your fat transfer. We don't mind seeing some swelling...it's completely normal. In fact, it's great to see your healing progress over the weeks and months as you recovery. Congratulations!

Aloha, I'm from Hawaii too, so am really interested in your experience. Congratulations! Looks great! Questions: Did you have to use the Brava device prior to your procedure? If so, how long? How many days did you stay home from work? I am hoping to get the procedure done within the next year and wanted to plan my vacation around the procedure.
Please keep us updated on your progress. And you surely have nothing to be self- conscious about, you'll kill it in a bikini!

Aloha, thanks! I didn't have to do Brava since I had a lot of deflation. It's been 2 1/2 weeks now and I'm actually still off work but I wasn't going back until after the holidays anyways. As far as recovery time, it depends on how much lipo you get done. If it's an extensive area like your upper and lower abdomen and flanks then it's going to hurt! Wow! I really didn't know what to expect. I read a lot of reviews and people were back to work in a few days! Whaat??? My breasts did hurt as well but not as much. He said he tunnels into the tissue to deposit the fat so there's a lot of manipulation of tissues. I don't want to scare you but I didn't think it would be this difficult to recover. I was on percocet for almost 2 weeks. I took more of it and longer than I did for my hysterectomy. But, that is just me. It's a really invasive surgery so just be aware that you may need longer to recover than you think. For your sake, I hope not. You would definitely need help at least for a few days then you can hobble around on your own.

I'm doing well though. The first set of stiches are out. Healing nicely with just a few puckers around the aerolae but that should go away. Breasts feel nice and smooth, no lumps. Tummy still sore. A few lumps but he makes you wear a compression garment to help with edema, lumps, etc. I suggest getting a garment you pull on and is a smooth continuous piece with no seams. I actually wear mine inside out to avoid the seam on the sides. The one he gave me is a girdle that you cinch up but it created too many lines and puckers on my skin so I ditched that one. I think it was too tight. You want it snug but you shouldn't feel pain, dicomfort, yes.

Hope you're planning goes well. I think I'll be ready for that bikini soon!

Still sore

2 1/2 weeks post op. Still really sore but better. In the pic I still have my stiches in. They look better now without them. The doctor said the puckering should smooth out.
