My “AHA” Moment. What Everyone Should Understand About a Tummy Tuck.

So this past Wednesday was the day for my 90-day liposuction procedure after my tummy tuck, which is part of Dr. Schlesinger’s popular Ultimate Silhouetteplasty. This will be my update for this last procedure and an overall review of my experience with Dr. Schlesinger. The last procedure is normally liposuction of your abdomen and hips, Dr. S was generous enough to go back in and also liposuction my mid back again to take out the stubborn fat that just didn’t want to go away from the first procedure that I had pointed out in my pre-op appointment. The day of surgery went well as expected; it’s the normal check in with their amazing anesthesiologist Judy, my post-operative nurse Stephany, and then with the Doctor himself. Waking up from surgery was sort of a blur, I don’t remember being in much pain, but I do remember the time and care that my post-op nurse Stephany took to wait with me until I was picked up. The amount of care and patience that Dr. Schlesinger’s team has is so wonderful to have when coming out of surgery. After my caretaker came to pick me up, I was instructed to come back the next morning for my post-op appointment. The first day/night I slept really well without having to take any pain medicine, the second night I was a lot more tender, but it was bearable enough not to have to take any pain meds, and by the third day I was back into a small girdle and ready to see the ultrasound tech Diana. My swelling was not bad at all this time around, and I was able to go back to normal life three days after! My waistline went from 33” before my entire procedure to a 28” with me still being swollen from surgery when I went into my appointment three days post-op. He fixed the wideness of my hips and made my waist even smaller from what it already was, which I thought was impossible because my waist was pretty small coming out of my first surgery. As for Dr. Schlesinger’s team, Jenna, the patient coordinator, was a huge help when it came down to making the decision, she worked with me so that I was able to have the procedure done. Paul and Sydni were always a huge help when scheduling or having to fit me into Dr.’s schedule. Also, the rest of the staff like Amber, Stephany, and the rest of the nurses who have been there with me through surgeries and post-operative appointments have just all been incredible. I look at my body now, and I am proud of what I see in the mirror, and that is something that you cannot put a price tag on. This is the smallest my waist has ever been in my life, the sexiest my body has ever looked, and I would not have had any of this without Dr. Schlesinger. The compliments that I receive on how I look are just a bonus to the amount of confidence I received after having this surgery; people can’t believe that I’m a mom. I tell everyone that I know in my heart I made the right decision choosing Dr. Schlesinger. You cannot find many doctors that care and listen to their patients wants and needs, who takes time to always be there on call when you have a concern, or who pays attention to detail as Dr. S does. He is an outstanding plastic surgeon who does his work well because he is passionate about what he does, and in my book he is the best here in Hawai'i, you will never find another doctor like Dr. Schlesinger or his staff.
