First Time I Derma Rolled my Face for Acne Scars, Acne, and Wrinkles/fine Lines

UPDATED FROM Makeupvixen
2 months post

Did my second rolling treatment just over a week ago!

$10
So far I haven't noticed much difference yet but I've only rolled two times now so I'm not expecting to much difference yet. One difference I've noticed is my skin a couple of days right after the treatment. I've been using a Hylaronic acid serum & a vitamin C serum right after and it plumps up my scars and fine lines. So love that but it only last a couple of days! I did purchase a 1.5mm w/some numbing cream that I plan on trying next month. This time I did go with the 1mm again w/out a numbing cream. I do take it easy on my face, I don't want to harm my skin more than it already is. I only bleed a tiny bit w/the 1mm roller and it doesn't really hurt much. I will keep you all updated!

Do you experience any dryness or flaking after rolling? Any bleeding?
He said he bled abit with the 1mm. I have heard that some drying has occurred. Also the vit c and hyaluronic acid is very good.
Yes very little bleeding. More so on my forehead, not really anywhere else. It was a very small amount, dots of blood. My face is nice & tight right after but no flaking or dryness. If ur planning on rolling, u will have to hydrate ur skin a lot right after. I did every hour after I rolled for the whole night. Your skin will soak it up immediately.
Ok thanks, so vitamin c and hyaluronic are the best moisturisers? Sorry, I don't really know what's good. I tried hyaluronic once but felt drier. Not that dewy feeling I was anticipating..

Yes I use vitamin C because it helps collagen production and the Hylaronic acid for hydration and for a plumping effect. Here's what I bought from amazon. I'm happy w/this product. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CLILRMY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You'll probably have to copy & paste the link in ur browser. It's 100% pure Hylaronic acid I bought threw amazon! only $12.99, def not a bad deal. Some ppl also use coconut oil for moisturizing, I haven't tried that yet so I can't say if it works but I plan on trying it next time.

Thank you for keeping your review up to date, we appreciate it!

I purchased a. 5mm and a 1mm dermaroller.. Think that'll work?

Just checking in for an update to see how you are making out with your treatments. Are you happy with your results so far?

Today is the first time I've derma rolled my face....

Today is the first time I've derma rolled my face. I used a 1mm titanium roller that I bought off of amazon for around $10. I did not use any numbing cream and don't feel the need to yet. I used a Hylaronic acid serum & a vitamin C serum afterwards. If i do see some improvement then I will try the 1.5mm and maybe a numbing cream. I plan to roll once a month and give my face time to heel and rebuild collagen.

Welcome to the community and thank you for documenting your dermarolling experience here on RealSelf. How do you clean your roller after use? I look forward to your updates, be sure to keep us posted - Good Luck!
Ty very much! I'm looking forward to documenting my journey w/the derma roll. I actually soak the roller in alcohol before and after use.
Just FYI, I soaked mine in alcohol also but when I used it again the roller would stick in places and not turn, left some scratches on my face where it dragged across, rather than roll. It was a cheap roller from Amazon. Planning on buying another

I rolled my laugh lines and a few scars on my face today. Also rolled my neck lines. I have had horizontal ring necks since I was a baby but it seems to be getting worse with age. A few words of advice if you want to maximize your results: 1. Formulate a pre and post rolling skin care routine. Stick to it! Here's what I did pre treatment : alternate between retin-A and vitamin C serum every night. Apply god sunblock during the day. I made my own vitamin c following instructions on [RS bleep].org(I bought all my equipment from there actually). 2. Rolling treatment: I used a 1.5mm dermastamp and a 1.5 mm dermaroller and also a few single needles. I rolled my entire neck(avoiding Adam's apple) and parts of my face. I then stamped the specific scars I want to address. Stamping gives you denser pricking. I also have a 22 year old boil scar on my nose for which a stamp would have been too big so I got a single needle and densely pricked the scar from various angle.i didn't experience any bleeding except where I used the single needle. I will repeat this in three weeks. Please don't roll any sooner with this needle length or your skin will become worse. If you have 0.5mmstamp/roller, you can use that once or twice a week. 3. Post rolling use ann ointment that is rich in vitamin A. I used infadolan that is also sold on xx.org

4.for the next three days I will continue with only infadolan and then resume my pre-treatment regimen until my next rolling session.

It will give good results for sure. Keep rollin!!! :-)
Have you tried this treatment too on your skin? I'm keen to try it. Have you seen good results on others?
I disinfect my roller using rubbing alcohol or rinse with hot water and let it dry. I put in the freezer after cleaning to maintain the sharpness.
Good advice! Ty :-)
